Somewhat slouchy chestnut boots

In the quest for the elusive chestnut boots, I am trying out these:

Most of the shoe websites show them folded down like on my right leg, but I prefer them unfolded like on the left.

So what do you think? I guess I would call them more ruched than slouchy. There is a bit of gaping on the top, but not much. Are they slouchy enough so that I can get away with it?

Hmm, I think I would be more open to the gap at the top if it weren't for that outer zip (which is a fab decorative element, but something about it is just throwing me off).

If it weren't for the zipper, I would have said to scrunch them down a tiny bit more, and then it would probably be acceptable, and the looseness wouldn't be an issue.

I could be completely wrong about this though. I am no master of boot fitting.

I adore them!! I agree that they look better unfolded, but maybe thats just because you have very long legs and I think when they are folded they look too short for your legs.

I love the zipper and buckle detail. The gap at the top doesn't bother me at all, though I am not someone who minds the gap at all on anyone.

Thank you for your opinions ladies. I have do admit that the boots are really growing on me, so I am hoping that most of the replies will say that the fit is OK.

Thanks again Angie. The leather is fairly thin, so I am hoping that the top of the boots will soften up with wear and start slouching more, and that way I could wear them unfolded too.

LauraElizabeth, they are by Jessica Simpson - I know, I cringe at the name, but as Angie says we shouldn't leave any retail stone unturned. Plus she mentioned that BCBG makes her stuff, so I will just pretend in my head that the boots are by them. Anyway, here they are:

Pretty! Congratulations.

(I cringe every time I see Jessica Simpson's name on shoes and boots, too, but it's actually a pretty good line, I think; I've tried some of her boots before as well and liked them. And the prices are reasonable.)
