Some things I purchased - YouLookFab Forum

I've been noticing lately that my wardrobe is not working. I like volume on the bottom, but I don't have the tops to wear with it. I just wanted to show you a few pieces I just ordered.

This ivory blouse I thought would go perfect under so many cardigans and with some of my high waisted items that are just sitting in my closet right now.

The red shrug I bought to wear over this

which I already own and they show it on the website together, so it must match.

The blue top I don't know what I am going to do with it, but it looks like a more fitted top which I need. I'm getting sick of voluminous tops.

I just wanted to show you guys cause I'm so excited and can't wait to get them. Anthropologie is coming to my city in the fall. It will be so nice to not pay for shipping anymore. I am addicted to this store!

You have boho style Shannon. That’s why you love Anthropologie!

You have loads of voluminous bottoms and they require fitted tops. Baby dolls don’t work wide leg pants. They work best with sleeker bottoms.

It’s hard to judge whether these tops are fitted enough, because they often get pinned onto mannequins. They look as though they’d work. Are you going to tuck in the tops?

I really like the turquoise pleated shell--I think that blouse is fitted.

I also like the turquoise pleated shell. I have one similar from AT and love the neckline.
I like everything you ordered. The shrug is so cute and I can just see it looking great on you. My thought was that the shrug would look good with the first white sleeveless blouse. Can't wait to see pictures of these on you.
Angie has a great point that I never thought of, that they pin these things to look good on the manniquins! Hmm.

Shannon, I love love love that little red shrug!! And the red top...and the tourquoise one too...I have one with a similar neckline (though it's looser) and it's incredibly flattering. I too, have aquired many a wonderful thing from Anthropologie! Yes, hope to see pics of them on you too.

A word about Anthropologie- I loved the catalogue and when they opened a store in Columbus, I got a part time job there- I spent every cent I made, but it was so worth it - their home stuff is great too, and the company itself is a joy to work for- truly nice people.
Tip- check out the sale room ( They have one in the store here- I hope they do when they open the store near you). Whenever we go to this mall, my husband just tells me-"I'll see you in a couple of hours in the sale room". I always end up there.
I'm a fan of Marni- but it's out of my price range. Anthropologie clothes have a similar style.

Angie, I would have never guessed I had boho style. I thought boho was more like long, baggy, belted pieces, not fitted or ruffled. Tells you how much I know. I'm going to try the tops both tucked in and left out. I am not against anything, so I'll just see how they look with what I have.

lisamartin, I would love to work at Anthro! Maybe when both of my kids are in school I will look into that. Unless I go back to school. Glad to hear it is a good company. Makes me feel better about spending all my money there. Can I ask what kind of discount you received?

Wow...I adore those two tops. And I love the idea of putting a cardigan over the ivory shirt. And the turquoise top would look so cute with my grey pencil skirt. I may very well copy your style on this one and head over to my local Anthro tomorrow. I love their clothes, but always find myself at a loss as to how to wear the items. This gave me some great ideas! Thanks!

Shannon- we got 40% from regular price on clothing- 20 % on home. Four times a year we got 40% off even the sale price- they encouraged you to buy there, and would allow you a certain number of special buys per month. This was three years ago, so I'm kind of fuzzy on the details- also got discount at Urban Outfitters. I think you would like the home stuff too- esp. the "found objects". They were special finds from all over the world- one of a kind pieces. There were several SAHM who worked there part -time. I really think you would enjoy yourself and I think they would be thrilled to have you- fun , nice people! Good luck!
