Finally I started to take pictures of my everyday outfit. Here's week one:

4-29: My biz casual, just replace white jeans with white dress pants. My favorite of this week.

5-2: It doesn't look as good as I thought. For us hourglasses, nipped waist is still the best choice.

5-3: Saturday casual with my new AK shoes. Should I wear bootcut instead of straight?

4/29 looks fantastic. Everything looks like it was made for you. Love the pop of animal print under the jacket. Super outfit.

I actually really like 5/2. It's my second favorite. I used to have a cardigan like that but I ruined it in the wash I think the outfit is cute though.

For the other one, try the bootcuts instead. I think it would look cute. The straight legs don't look bad, but I have found that a wider leg opening balances out a flowy top. I wonder if the top needs to be shorter too. Maybe not but perhaps it's worth investigating.

1. Biz casual outfit is PERFECT is every way. WOW! I love it and you look fab. Well done!! This is a brilliant example of how to do white pants in Spring with a black and white palette. Start helping me convince others that white pants are the way to go. Please!
2. Adorable layered cardi and knitted top combo. Don’t sell yourself short. This works and you look great.
3. Casual day with fab yellow flats. It looks fine with skinnies, but boot cuts are better for the same reason that Maya mentioned. She did the same thing with her arty moo moo and it worked.

Can’t wait to see more! You and Maya need to start swopping clothes. It’s uncanny.

My favorite is the black and white top layered with the black jacket and white pants. That looks really sharp. The casual white blousy outfit is nice, too. I love it with the yellow flats!

You and Maya should get at least one outfit that is the same and take a picture from the neck down and post it here. We can have a contest to see who can tell which one is Maya and which one is Julia. I would definitely lose--you two are body doubles.

Maya, would you ever wear the white pants/jacket combo? That might be nice for an interview at an art job.

I would definitely wear something like that for the purpose you mentioned Ana. In my day to day life, probably not. Most graphic design jobs are extremely casual. But it's making me wonder about getting a pair of trouser jeans.

Ana your contest idea is so funny, I bet it would be a lot of fun. Have you watched the movie "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"? Maya we can mail some clothes to each other and post for pictures! Just kidding...

Angie I'm totally convinced by your white pants idea and I've been modeling it frequently, hopefully that will inspire more people.

I love the outfit with the white pants! Julia, if I'm remembering right, you're close to my height (5'0") and a similar shape. Angie, I am almost convinced. It's just that my kids are still at the age where they wipe hands, mouths, and/or noses on my clothes, plus I'm naturally prone to spills and stains anyway. I actually do have one pair of white wide-legged trousers with pinstripes and they have made it through several wearings without being ruined. I think a trimmer fit would be better for me, though.

I think all three outfits are great. I love the necklace w/the white top. The 4/29 outfit is so polished and classy!

I'm going to shop for white trouser jeans. You looke great in white pants. Is there a subtle stripe on those white pants? I also really like the geometric patterned black shirt that you are wearing under the cropped cardi. Do you remember where you got it?

Is there a reason why everyone cuts off their heads?

Yeah Becky, I'm 5'0''. I was wearing a 2 1/2 inches red peep toe wedge with the white pants but you may not be able to tell. The mirror is in my door way so light is not enough.

I understand that it's hard to pull it off with little ones around. I think some materials are more stain-proof, like corduroy? I have a pair of cream from JCrew that I wear on weekends.

I usually cut my head off because I really do not look good from the neck up in these pics. I'm always looking into the LED screen on my camera and my face looks a bit funny.

I actually just noticed that I have no full body pictures online except one from maybe 4-5 years ago where I was basically doing the same thing I do here! I was so skinny then, sigh. Though the funny thing is I thought this looked great after I took the picture, so I sure didn't know how to dress myself.

Anyway, I don't want to hijack the discussion from Julia. but I'd be glad to swap clothes with you any day of the week...or at least on occasions when I need to look a little more elegant than I usually do.

I too would like to know where the cropped tie cardigan is from. It would be nice to replace the one I ruined, if it's still available.

Maya, you look adorable! there's not really wrong with the outfit, maybe the jacket could be a smidge longer or something.

I usually don't cut off my head unless I look hideous because I'm too lazy to crop it.

I really liked the leg on those jeans but had to give them away when I gained weight! Those slant pockets and button flaps on the back were great when I had narrow hips and a small butt, but now they would looked terrible. The jacket was definitely too short. All that remains of that outfit is the polkadot scarf from Express.

I don't really even crop my pictures anymore. I just position the camera so my head isn't in the picture :p

Julia, I love your outfits! They are all very classy, but I especially like 4/29. In fact, I like it so much that I may copy it.
Maya. you're adorable on that picture, and I agree with Ana on your outfit.

I actually take my pictures in such a matter that my head does not show. I would also be too lazy to crop it afterwards. The reason is mainly that I personally do not feel comfortable having my picture on the web, but i'ma bit paranoid when it comes to that stuff. I also do not particularly like my face.

Julia, I love 4-29 and 5-2. The white pants are so fresh. I really need to start looking for a pair of white jeans for myself for the summer. You inspired me. I agree with the other ladies about 5-3. Love the idea (and the shoes), but I think bootcut jeans would balance it out a little bit better. Someone said maybe if the top was a little shorter, but I actually would prefer a little longer of a top. Maybe that's just preference. Anyway, you look great.

I just realized how off the color is in the 4-29 picture. Here's the ensemble in a spot with better light:

The blouse is white and chocolate brown, from Stein Mart (is that a national chain?) I bought it a few years ago. I cut off the tag so I don't know who made it. I did notice that BR has a top in similar print, if not the same, the color is exactly the same:

The jacket is a jean jacket from AT Loft last season. Shiny I believe they have similar cut every season so you might be able to find one you like.

The pants is from Petite Sophisticated many years ago, it's cream with fine brown stripes. Nicole you have sharp eyes!

Maya you look absolute adorable! Thanks for sharing. I cut off my head because I don't want to show my face on the internet. It took me a lot of courage to show my pictures so you have to excuse me for not sharing the face.

Oh I forgot to comment on the 5-2 outfit, I was busy doing house chores while writing replies. The cardi was from BR. I think that I got the idea from Angie from this blog:

The middle one in the top row is the same as mine in a different color.

The knit under the cardi was from Winners I believe. I got it last year while I was in Toronto.
