some new stuff- what's the approval rating?

A friend of mine gave me a gift certificate to NYC so I went to see if I could find some stuff. I was mainly in need of some long sleeve layeriing pieces.

My beef with NYC is that the lighting in their dressing rooms makes it hard to discern coloring.

How's this yellow shirt? (excuse the muffin top- I bought small because it's all cotton so it will stretch, and I'll be wearing it under stuff anyway) Is the color too bright for me?

The pink scarf looks great with the dress!
I like the yellow top,the texture is great,but maybe pair it with the different color sweater instead of the pink one - to me together the look to like easter.
Again - I like that pink sweater on you - but maybe pair it with different color under it .
And last the black long sweater - Love that one on you - you look young and hip!belted or not,whatever,looks great!Maybe try with a woven shirt under it!

I like all of them. Yellow is so refreshing to wear and that shade of pink suits you real well I think.

Just a little comment is for the pinks. Do you think you'd get bored of the pinks and wear one of them more than the others? You can't pair them together so I'm wondering if there's room for multiple pink items in one closet even if they look great on you. And they do!

Hope you don't mind that I said this. I sometimes love a color and do the same thing. So it was more experience talking.

My favorites are the grey tunic (you styled this outfit in such a nice way! Flattering and young!), the pink scarf with the dress.
I'm not crazy with the pink sweater and the yellow blouse..too bright..

I like the pink and yellow together, very springtime and cheerful. Not sure about the grey and yellow, something about the necklines? I'm not sure. The belt with the tunic looks great. I don't think any of them look too small.

Renata, now that you mention it, the pink and yellow together does look a bit Easter-ey. And, I don't own a woven shirt.... I really need to get on that. Oh, wait, I do have a sleeveless one... I'll try that. (and, surprise, surprise.. it's PINK!)

Legacy- thanks for your thoughts- and heavens, I don't mind at all! That's what I want- everyones observations. I had to laugh though, because half my closet is pink. well, maybe not half, but I do buy alot of pinks and purples. I realilze that the 2 items wont go together, but I think they would each have plenty of other friends. However, I am thinking of returning the pink t because after re-assessing the neckline, I think it would be more flattering in a v-neck.

Stringy- thanks for your input! So, do you think that it's the 2 v-necks together that is bothering you about the grey and yellow? Too much foofoo with the ruffles?

Queenie, I agree with Stringy about the two necklines together. I think having the 2 embellishments together is a little much with me, but I love the idea of that outfit. I would try a more plain neckline under the tunic, or a simpler embellishment there.

Overall I think all the fits are very flattering on you, and I especially love the pink scarf with the dress because it's not matchy matchy, but it "goes" really well. Would love to see you IN that outfit.

Love all the new stuff! Love the pink sweater, but the flower detail competes with the detail on the neckline of the shirt, in my opinion. Also, the grey or black sweater over it has similar detailing and seems again to compete. , but I could be all wrong about this...you look great in the bright colors.

(It would help if I spelt "attraction" right).

Queenie! I adore all the pink items – shirt, scarf and cardigan are GREAT. Well done! You look smashing in that colour. I really like the grey pullover too. Looks fab belted. I only like the yellow shirt when you wear it WITH the pink. Does that make sense?

hmm, so I"m wondering if the yellow shirt is worth keeping then. Yellow and I will have to do a photo shoot with the rest of our closet friends and see how they all get along

It was the colour yellow actually, not the neckline. As soon as you wore it with pink it made sense against your skin tone.

The pink scarf with that dress is really pretty. You look great in the yellow and pink and it is definately unexpected but seems to be working on you and in those tones. (I hope tones is the proper word here, JJ?)
The grey tunic is pretty but I would have trouble with the deep scoop neckling. Perhaps a button down shirt that doesn't button all the way to the top. Let me see if I can find a link.

There you go. There's a couple of nice expensive demos for you. You see how the buttons stop low and it creates a V-neck?

San, thanks for those suggestions. As they are a bit out of my price range, you can get the first one for me for Christmas-- probably in a small
I do need to look for a nice button up long sleeve shirt though, as I don't own one.
Stringy, I'm guessing most everything in my closet will go with the grey tunic. I'm gonna try it this weekend with this shirt...
