Hi,

I've made a few purchases in the last few weeks and am just now getting to post them. I'd love your comments - feel free to use CRS. Please excuse my wet hair - I did these between getting ready this morning. Also, sorry there is so much at once - just wanted to get it all out there! Thanks!

Oh, you did well, JuliJuli! Great stuff. A few comments:

Love the teal blouse on you, great color. However, I MUCH prefer it belted. I think the belted style is fab, and unbelted it looks a little "tenty" and makes you look big in the middle which I know you aren't at all.

LOVE the shoes! I'm not sure about socks with them, I'd go for hose (you could do knee highs).

I'm unsure about the length of the boyfriend cardi. It seems to me that another inch might be even better as it wouldn't hit you at the widest spot of the hips then, but I'm not sure. This is a new style for me as well and I haven't gotten the hang of the perfect boyfriend cardi length yet. Curious to hear others' opinions.

I like the button down, though I'm not enamored with it under your fab black and white jacket. I think the shirt is a little more classic/sporty looking; a softer blouse might work better under the jacket I think. I do like the button-down with the belt.

That sweater is great, it looks both cozy and stylish, I would not fear Angie on this one Do try it over other tops in different colors as well.

Nice new fall purchases! I hope to see some of them at our next YLF get-together!

Great purchases! Thanks for posting the pics.

1. J Crew Blouse - That is a great color.

2. Shoes - very cute! I think they would work with hose or something in a lightweight material.

3. I like the boyfriend sweater. I am not sure what the correct length is supposed to be, but it looks fine to me.

4. I think the button down shirt fits well and it looks great with the pearls. I kind of like the look of it belted, maybe try it with a little bit wider belt?

5. I don't think the shirt works with the jacket, but the jacket itself is very nice.

6. Love the sweater! It looks so comfy and cozy.

My favorite is the red sweater and that's the way to use a tee for layering. The JCrew blouse is a great color. I'm still trying to figure out belting tops so I can't help out there. Love the shoes, but agree that hose will probably do better than socks. The button front shirt will be a great layering piece and the jacket is great -- but not together. Overall, I think you picked out some great pieces!

Hi Julijuli, I love the shoes, great find! I would wear them with hose (or trouser socks that look like hose), but I could be wrong. I agree with Antje about all other items. The button down doesn't quite work with the jacket, I think, because of the piping and competing collars - but it fits great on its own.
I am also uncertain if it's technically a bf cardigan - from what I understand, they are supposed to be a bit longer and looser... it looks nice, but longer might be better. Or maybe try buttoning only a few buttons?

I prefer the shoes w/out the black socks. And I prefer the BR top belted. It looks too big unbelted. Could try it belted with the black and white jacket?

I love this jacket on you and I love the red cardi.

I'm not sure how I feel about the button down shirt belted. It doesn't look natural to me...but I'm really not a good judge of this look.

Well done jj! That jacket is KILLER and your jeans are superb (old news but I thought you might enjoy hearing that again). Here’s my 2 cents:

1. LOVE the shoes with the skinnies – a 10. KILLER.

2. Boyfriend cardi looks GREAT. 9.5. (surprisingly, a good length).

3. Cardi and T look fab! A solid 9. I’m absolutely 100% with good quality T’s being used as LAYERING pieces. You look wonderful.

4. Super button-down and I too prefer it belted on its own (not under the jacket).

No socks with the shoes – but sheer knee-highs will do the trick. The teal blouse does not flatter your frame worn on its own. It’s great belted and the colour is lovely.

(pssst. LOVE the chunky pearls).

Thanks everyone for your comments - I will try both the teal top and the shirt belted! Angie - I wasn't sure about the pearls at first but they have really grown on me - they work with LOTS of things.

JJ - I will repeat what most folks have said. You have done awesome with all your purchases. My favorite, absolutely killer outfit is the bf sweater belted with the awesome jeans and shoes. The shoes get a 10. Try trouser socks which are really sheer. Prefer all options belted and not that shirt under your jacket. Really like the comfy sweater too.
