I'm drooling over the smoothie recipes here.
I have an Oster--can't remember the model, but I know it was less than $ 100. For the price it's a pretty amazing blender. My smoothies come out smooth enough for my taste (I've used frozen fruits and ice cubes, but not unpeeled apples), and I've made cashew cream and almond milk with it too.
One day, after years of regular use, the motor began to have issues--I can't remember if it was an odd noise or an odd smell. I got in touch with Oster--more than five years after purchase--asking where I could take it to be repaired. And you know what they did? They REPLACED the whole base of the blender (i.e. the blender minus the jar and lid) FOR FREE. (And paid for the shipping of my old base.)
I was seriously impressed by the customer service.
My favorite smoothie:
- Almond milk
- Cocoa powder
- Cashew butter
- Strawberries
- Maca powder
Very silky, nutty, and rich.
But I also love just whizzing frozen berries with a little sugar and water for a refreshing slush.
