I'm not really into wearing skulls and such, but I think these are awesome, for fall/Halloween/whatever. Way too pricey for my budget, but super fun just the same. They also come in ankle strap pumps.

Do you have any favorite skull-type items that you'll be wearing this season? Do you only wear them when Halloween is approaching?

Oh those are amazing! I would totally wear those.

I have an AMQ skull print scarf and clutch and plan to wear them year round!
These shoes remind me of the skull bowling ball in Mystery Men carried by The Bowler, anyone remember that? It was supposed to be the skull of her father.

I've been drooling over those for a while now!

Interestingly I just returned a pair of McQueen leggings that I tried from
Yoox on super sale (and still outrageous - just needed to get them out of my system). They were really indistinguishable from some cheap f21 poly leggings other than the distinctive print. I mean, they felt like they might bag out after a couple of wears. Disappointing but also enlightening.

I am an Alexander McQueen fan overall, and I collect the scarves and have several pairs of shoes. But I wear the scarves year 'round; the print is classic McQueen and not Halloween to me. I love these shoes with the skull heel, and I would also wear these year 'round if I owned them.

I have my blingy skull-on-the-butt jeans that I love, and that they will have to tear out of my cold, dead hands. (Pun? not intended). This picture is from last July. I wore them up until about May this year. I don't know if this summer was hotter than past years, or if it's my age, but the material seemed far too heavy for our sweltering summer.

I plan to break them out in a few weeks when the weather cools. I won't save them for Halloween. I feel like these are year-round for me, until it gets too hot.

I LOVE both of the Alexander McQueens, particularly the ankle strap shoes, which makes me think of the Valentino Tangos. (Tangos with skulls! Yes, please!) Alas, they are beyond my budget.

Xtabay, those boots are fabulous. The heel is way too high for me, but they have a groovy 70's vibe that I love. Do you wear your skull earrings year round?

Una, I don't know if it's that F21's clothes are getting better or everyone else's are getting worse (I have the feeling it's the latter and that's sad), but I've seen that a few times.

Sochi, Jane, and Momo, I agree, those booties and shoes are super cool and super fun. I'd love to wear the shoes with a totally girly fit and flare dress (like my floral black one from my "SJP Icon" post), for a little bit of "Oh that outfit's so pretty - but what the....." fun!

Karie as a SJP fan, I think you will love the dress that Alexander McQueen made for her from his Widows of Culloden collection. Sarah has graciously told the story of how Alexander made it for her and how charmed she was by him and his desire to get the dress absolutely perfect. For me that was the most fantastic of all his collections - being designed by Alexander himself and drawing on his Scottish heritage.

I have always harboured a desire to own a McQueen black frock coat, so Una's comment about the leggings is instructive. I imagined that if I ever splurged on one, it would be the most amazingly constructed garment, but alas the house is a big business and so even at such a high price the quality may not be there. Perhaps I should continue to admire the McQueen legacy from afar. Those shoes and boots are divine.

Hi Karie -- my skull earrings are just a seasonal thing for Fall. They symbolize to me the waning of the year. They don't seem to fit my mood during other seasons. I'm generally a sunny sort!

Those booties are fierce! I bet the kids you work with would love them! (Or be afraid of them.....). I craft a different outfit every year for Halloween. I have gone more for sorcery then gouls.

Xtabay and Shedev, skull earrings would be very fun, I don't have any but if I did I'd probably only wear them this time of year, or with the right "hard edge" outfit (which I don't do very often, maybe once a year!)

Sterling, I wondered about that too. I like that it is subtle, yet I wouldn't want to have to point it out either.

Staysfit, my students would love them - too much - and probably wouldn't concentrate on their reading (not that they concentrate anyway)!
