San, it seems to fit similarly to my boyfriend jacket. It's a slouchy, boyish fit. I would not wear it buttoned. I think that is why it wasn't well received the first time around. Mine would look "too big" if I buttoned it, because it is meant to be quite loose. Also, to the untrained eye, it might still appear big because people just aren't used to it. I think you should bump this when Angie gets back to be sure because it is so expensive.
My only concern is that extended shoulders are quite "in" right now but may not be in 6 months or a year or five years. At the price you paid, I'd expect this jacket to get frequent use for decades to come.
