One advice I can give you when you do this, is to shop for outfits, not pieces! It's really bad when you have cutest stuff in the world but can't make outfits out of them. And maybe you can add some cute shoes to your list!
As for colors, I think you'd look great in purples, blues and rosy-pinks.
For the tops, wraps ( and fake ones) are great, I also like surplice styles, styles with some ruching, or criss-crossing in the front.

Tanya, you're right about the outfits...that's what I plan to do. I also know I need some nicer shoes (*grin*); I'm just not sure many b&m stores will have WW in stock. I do have the perforated silver flats on their way; I hope they will work.

Sounds like a great list. Depending on where you live and how warm/hot the summer gets, I wonder if you want to just get 1 pair of jeans now and buy 1 pair of walk shorts (bermudas) or clamdiggers. Then you can buy a second pair of full length jeans in September.
Also, if your budget allows, I'd add a cardigan to the mix. I'd buy the dress(es) and bottoms first and then pick a cardi in a color that works with all of them. Tanya makes a great point about buying outfits rather than individual pieces. It's easier to do when you have your whole list ready, so this is a super start!

You're right, Antje, I probably should substitute a pair of summer bottoms for the second pair of jeans. I actually do have a few pairs of walk shorts, but they are all khaki (I know, not the greatest style quotient), so I could do with some variety and improvement there.

Great list Becky! I wish I had a list like this and were as informed as you are when I started my closet overhaul a few years ago.

I know that we are talking about the basics here, but a few pieces of accessories depending on your likings would kick this up a notch IMO.

Making a list is great, in my opinion. I still like to go through my wardrobe and look at my stuff and decide on items I wish I had more of (like dresses) or look at my orphans and figure out why I don't wear them, and if there is anything I could get to go with it that would make it more wearable, etc.

Way to be organized! I second Antje's suggestion of buying 1 pair of great jeans now and a summer bottom like bermudas or clam diggers. When it gets hot you'll be glad you have that pair. White or dark denim would be great!

Julia, I had thought about accessories, especially with a dress. I had thought about doing a black/white print dress with colorful accessories (maybe red or green)...I guess we'll see what I find that fits and flatters!

Angie, I plan to show you all the outfits when I return. I'm not taking tags off ANYTHING until I get YLF approval! :-)

Ana, I think I will look for one pair of summer bottoms. I'm *so* tempted by white; I just don't know if it really fits into my lifestyle right now. If I find the right fit at the right price, I will do it, though!
