Shoes! NAS finds - K/R

Hi all! Sorry I've been kind of MIA - lots of stuff going on. I'll have some clothing posts from NAS, but I'm waiting for a few pieces that I had to order in my size before I really start to decide what stays and what goes back.

I think my work shoe collection has been built up to a respectable size, so I've decided to turn my focus onto my meager casual MOTG shoe collection at this year's NAS. So, here are a few for your consideration:

1. Naya Teak Oxford: fun, but I do have a pair of heeled suede oxfords in a similar color.
2. Josef Seibel Caspian Sneaker
3. Uggs Fabrizia: These looked cuter in the store. I'm thinking about taking them back and getting these instead: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/na.....sultback=0
4. Born Treddy Boot

I think I'll only keep either the Nayas or the Josef Seibels, so which one do you think is best? Do you agree that the Uggs should be replaced by the Nayas I linked to? The Nayas aren't quite this dark brown IRL. Think I love the Borns. I don't have any grey boots.

First off, the grey Born boots are amazing on you. Keep! I love the color and the shape.

I'm not loving any of the other three, I'm afraid. The first oxfords are nice but I do not like the thick dark brown laces. Maybe with a thinner lace. With the sneakers, I think the finish on the top looks a bit odd and shiny, which is making them look like plastic to me (they are leather, though, right?). The sole is also too white for my taste, but that may just be my poisoned eye for white sneakers showing itself. The Uggs look a bit too utilitarian and kind of blah to me, plus the top seems to be gaping too much, but the potential replacements you linked to look much more promising.

I really like the Born boots on you, Christy, especially over jeans.

I'm with Diana - I'd like the Naya oxfords with a different lace, something not quite so heavy. (Maybe even a length of ribbon?)

The Uggs are gaping, so try the Nayas you linked to --- you'd still be getting the burgundy colour, right?

The grey boots look okay to me. But do you need to eventually choose between the burgundy and grey? Colourwise I'm leaning towards the red, but of course you should check the fit on them before you decide!

Of the oxfords and fashion sneakers, I like both a lot. However, if your suede pair will work in the same way and in the same outfits as the oxfords, the Siebels are the no-brainer. If not, I have a slight partiality to the oxfords' sleeker appearance --- but it really depends on what you want to wear them with, and what you plan to do in them.

Between the Nayas and the Josef Siebels, I definitely prefer the Nayas. The "leather tennis shoe" just isn't doing it for me. I think different laces as the others have suggested would help the Nayas.

I too like the Born boots the best, although they're boots and not shoes.

I adore the grey Born boots. They are very flattering on you and look very versatile. Sadly, I am not terribly fond of the rest.

Looks like neither the Nayas or Josef Seibels are getting much love...I was leaning towards keep the Josef Seibels as an alternative to my black cons, but I'll have to keep thinking about it. The Uggs are going back and I think I'll get the Naya booties in their place. They were really comfortable, just not on sale. I'm glad you are all liking the Borns!

MandipaM - I don't need to decide between the brown or grey boots. I just won't likely keep both the oxfords and the fashion sneaks.

Christy please keep the oxfords... I love them!! I quite like the contrasting laces however you can always swap around laces depending on what you are wearing. And *wispering* incase Angie hears but I love that look of the rolled cropped pants with the oxfords.. its very 'street' fashion but I suspect its not ppl!

The fashion sneakers are fine but if you have cons already I would stick with those.

The Uggs just look a bit heavy for you, I prefer the other ones you have linked to.

And the grey born boots are fabulous. I would be keen to know how you will wear them tho. I love how you wear your Mizz Mooz blond boots so i am pretty confident styling this lighter boot also wont be an issue for you... how do you think you will wear them?

The oxfords are a pretty shoe, but I am just having trouble envisioning them in a Christie outfit. I like the sneakers, but they are so similar to Converse, I would think having Converse are sufficient already. If you wanted a different sneaker, maybe get a fashionable black or metallic one, or maybe one with colors that you can play off of in your casual outfits.
I actually like the worker-boot vibe of the Uggs, but I can also imagine feeling it's a bit wide looking. The Naya are pretty, but heeled and very different from the Uggs in my opinion. For some reason I really like the idea of a utilitarian style weekend boot for you, so I might keep looking for that. The Nayas are a gorgeous shoe, though. The Borns are very pretty too.

I prefer the Nordstrom boot in the link, and love the oxfords in pic#1.
I like the grey boot, but unsure about the shine on the toe, although it might be different I.R.L?

The oxfords (naya) and the Uggs are my favorites. I love me a work/moto boot! Also like the not on sale ones you linked to with a higher heel.

Without reading any of the previous replies, I have to say I love #1 and #3, though if you wear longer pants then the alternative boots with a higher heel might work better.

The sneakers seem to have a kid dish look and wouldn't be as versatile as those great oxfords. Not a fan here of tall boots, so the last pair leave me with no strong feelings either way.

I really love the Born boots (I ordered them, too!) and the sneakers, but I agree with the others that the laces on the oxfords are too big and distracting...not sure if switching out laces would make a big difference? The Uggs low boots are fine, but seems a little stiff and unfab.....I think you can find something more exciting.

The sneakers might fill an outdoorsy need with your little guy, so think about that.

I vote try the Naya booties that you linked to and return the Uggs.

Is it even possible to get consensus on shoes? Everybody seems to have such a different take on them.

Ultimately, it comes down to what you yourself like, how comfortable they are on your feet, and how well they plug holes in your wardrobe. And for that, only you have the answers. Which doesn't mean it isn't fun to look at what you've come up with. I like your taste...

I LOVE THE SEIBELS. I just had to chime in to say that because they're not getting much love - you'd probably wear them all the time going up to the cabin, right? I think they're adorable and they'd be perfect MOTG shoes for you. If I didn't have grey cons I would get some (and they're sold out in red, darn it).

I like the oxfords OK altho the contrasting laces don't drive me wild. I like the born boots with the jeans. Is there a gap with the skirt?

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments! Yes, Sarah, I was envisioning the Josef Seibels as good "heading to the cabin" shoes and going on casual bike rides, etc. Great memory!

Here are my thoughts for the moment:

The Borns are a definite stay
The Uggs are definitely going back
The Naya oxfords and Josef Seibels are in my "wait and see" pile. After seeing Diana's post with her laceless Oxfords, I'm considering pulling out the laces to see how the Nayas look. Might be a fun way to "ease" into the casual oxfords, which so many of you lasses sport so well!
