I have been searching for the perfect LBD for a long time: it has to have nice drape (preferably a light wool); it has to have a flattering neck-line (I prefer V-necks); it has to be somewhat fitted (I do not look great in straight shifts or flowy dresses); it has to have some type of shoulder coverage or sleeve (3/4, short, cap); I want it to work for business events or date nights; I want to be able to pack it on trips; I want to be able to accessorize it (necklaces, scarves, jacket, sweater- so one dress can work multiple ways).

I love this dress. It looks perfect. I ordered this dress. I now think of it as Shrodinger's dress: as long as it's in the box, it's either the perfect dress or just another miss. It's due to arrive tomorrow and then I will have to steel myself to open it up and face the music. But for now, it's all I want in a dress and I can fantasize about owning the perfect LBD.

You don't get this opportunity to dream about a purchase like this in the store: you find it, you try it on, and it either works or not right away. Does anyone else both love and fear the anticipation of an on-line order like this?
