Well. I discovered a silk store online and decided to try ordering some scarves, even if they were coming in from China! (I figured the Chinese must know what they're doing with silk...) I ordered Christmas gifts for a few ladies in the family, then threw in a couple for me. Well, the shipping for one scarf was a lot, but it only went up by cents for each consecutive scarf, so I was being economical. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

They came this morning. :o) And I promptly wore my favourite out: a reproduction of Van Gogh's "Les Bateaux". So happy with it. I wore it with my dark wash straight jeans, and a taupe linen jacket. Angie would have so approved of the combination, but I unfortunately am camera-deprived right now. But I did think I would show you the scarf. And it went out of stock right after I ordered it, so I think I got the last one, although I assume they will make more. This one is made for marrying taupe and blue, but there are so many other colours in there, I am sure I will find all kinds of ways to play with it. Touches of lavender too: lavender sweater, here I come!

For those who are interested, it was yangtzestore.com. I found a real big quality difference between the $15 dollar scarf and a $10 one I ordered. The cheaper ones were very thin, although for the price I'm not complaining too much. For the gifts, I got brushed silk winter scarves and they are very nice indeed.

I'm going to mull over whether I will buy from them again. There's no rush.
