The white KUT skinnies in the Diana fit arrived last night. I thought I should share a mini-review and some pics.

I bought 2 sizes; the pics are the size 6 (the 4 only arrives on Monday). I didn't wear them too long...I had to get to work, and since I want to compare the fit of the size 4 to these, I couldn't wear these to work today.

Is the length OK? They seemed a bit long (too much scrunch) but I trust your eyes better than my new-to-skinnies eyes.

The jeans are made of a soft but thick denim. The front pocket linings are partially visible, but it's not too bad (especially if the top is light or untucked). They are super comfortable. I needed no time to get used to them by letting them stretch out a bit. It almost makes me wonder if they will be too loose as they stretch out over the day? I guess I'll need to wear them all day to find out and also test out the size 4.

Angie: did you find they stretched out much over the course of the day?

There is a bit of gaping in the back, but that's a very common problem for me. If I keep this pair I'd need to have the wasit altered. Maybe the size 4 will be better?

I've included side and rear views. The rear view is...well, shall we say less-than-flattering? Be kind!

UPDATE: The size 4 arrived last night, and I think it fits better (feels better on and less gaping at the waistband), but I'm not sure if it looks better? I see some unsightly folds on the back of the thigh and in the crotch. I only wore it for an hour or so before bedtime. Opinions please?

Pics 5-9 (pale blue T) are the size 4. I added a close-up of the side for Diana, so she can see the seams. Sorry these pics are so yellow...

Those look nice! They don't look too long to me (or maybe I'm jealous that you can get pants that are nice and long) I'd definitely wait to try the 4's. They look like they might stretch out too much, but fit nice right now. I'm no expert on the stretch of this brand, though. Also, I think your rear view is quite nice. I think the waist gaping just needs to be taken in once you decide on the size.

I agree with Jem that definitely try the 4's for comparison sake. They do look really good on you Sunita! As for the length, I think the amount of scrunch on skinnies is a completely personal preference - for me because I have short legs, I try not to have too much scrunch because it then pushes fabric up the leg and can make the knee look baggier than it is. But that's just me.

Looks good! I would definitely try the 4's though... all of my KUT jeans are a size down from my normal, so I think the brand definitely runs big.

Pocket show-through does not look too severe, all things considered. Can I ask whether the seams (especially the vertical one on the backside) show through as well? (This is my huge pet peeve on white pants and a big reason I don't own any white jeans.)

These look great! The slight waist gap on you makes me hopeful that they might work on a "waistless wonder" like myself : )

Thanks for sharing this review with us! I would love to try these too... I'm thinking I will be going through more than one pair of these myself so these are going to sit in my cart for a while. They seem very nice on you and I am looking forward to the comparison with the smaller size.

They do look good! Not too long, I think. Sizing down is tough with white jeans; I know one is supposed to size up in them, but how to know that line between sized up and baggy? If you can wear them both for prolonged periods before returning, that would be ideal.

I would definitely try the 4's but do as Rae suggested and wear them around the house (with tags still in place) till you decide which is going to work best! You look good though!

Thanks for your feedback. I was bummed that Nordie's sent these in 2 shipements and I couldn't compare the two sizes right away. Oh well! I'll have another post for you on Tuesday re. the 4s.

@Jem: I guess being petite (5'3") has *some* advantages! It's unfortunate that finding a good fit is hard for women on either end of the height spectum, just like it is on the size spectrum.

@TS: So true on the scrunch...it does push the fabric up towards my knees. Hmm...

@Diana: IKWYM re. seams. I hate that too. The seams are partially visible (they're kinda visible in the side and rear view) but it's not too bad. Just like the pocket lining, they might show up more depending on the color of what's underneath. On someone a lot paler than me it might not be bad at all. I'll take a closer look for you when I get home.

@Zap, Kelly, Suz, modgrl, and Rae: Will report back on the fit of the 4s. I think the fabric is thick enough that sizing down *might* not be a disaster. Either way, I'll suck it up and post pics so the rest of you can see! Ha, ha...

How do they feel? The waist looks better in the smaller size but I'm not sure about the wrinkling in the back of the leg (which is always my problem.) I like the slightly more relaxed fit of the larger size but I do worry about them stretching out. I'm very curious to hear what others think.

Thanks Kelly! That's my worry too (I included details of the new fit in the main post up above). Maybe I need to wear them for several hours over the weekend to see if the leg relaxes into a more flattering look?

I do hope others chime in...

I have a 4 in an old Kut skinny-ish jean (not Diana) and a 6 in the the boyfriend jean. Both do stretch out a bit through the day but not enough to have sized down. My weight is always up or down 5 lbs and I find they are very forgiving. Will you be wearing these with longer tops or tucked?

Hmm...I'll probably wear tops both ways...tucked and untucked. I like to have options! But when I tuck I usually add another layer, like a cardi or jacket.

My weight seems to have stabilized for now (my fluctuations are in the 1-3 lb range), but it is possible that my martial arts classes will eventually lead to more muscle mass in my legs...

I like the 4 on you. I always have a little wrinkling in the back of my leg, so it's not something that bothers me. What I like is that these fit well both front and back and if they don't gape as much, then you should get these!

Thanks Kirti! The folds wouldn't bother me at all in a dark wash denim, but I've never worn white denim before and it looks wierd to me.

Sigh...do I just need to get over it?!

Wow, I'm not sure? I like how the 6's are fitting now, but if they stretch out too much that would be bad. I think that if they were dark jeans, it would be the 4 for sure because those look cute, for sure, but I think with white jeans you want them a little looser. I'd be curious what Angie says.

Thanks Jem...that's exactly the quandry I'm in. if they were dark wash, I'd keep the 4 in a heartbeat. But with the white color I'm not sure....

I can wear the 4's a little more to see how they'd look after several hours worth of use. But then every time I washed then, I'd be starting from scratch...

I actually prefer the fit of the size 6 if you have the waistband altered, Sunita. These jeans do not stretch out at all. Length is fab

Brilliant....thanks ever so much Angie! I'm wearing the 6 right now actually....I had pretty much decided that they were a better fit in the leg and I would bite the bullet on the waist alteration! Makes me feel a whole lot better that you agree.
