Refresher Course on Skinny Pants?

Hi Ladies,
Can you please remind me the rules on Skinny pants that are not denim or knit/leggings? Are regular skinny pants okay to wear to an office setting? I'm thinking about a pair for spring. I work in a casual office where anything goes, but I like to err a little bit on the smart casual side.

I'm certainly no authority on office wear, but I would think smart looking, nice fitting skinny pants should be fine. No VPL though...

Skinny trousers are a good alternative to the usual boring boot cut black pant. I think the right pair of skinny pants will work just fine in a casual work setting.

Angie and Tanya both have these and love them, and yes they are perfectly fine in an office setting.

I want them so badly and am getting anxious as I watch more and more sizes sell out. Mine will be gone pretty soon

The ones Maya posted look exceptionally work appropriate. I wish the straight leg Martin fit didn't have the cuff to shorten the leg line. It can be removed but that's extra expense and trouble.

Fathenry, I echo the savvy gals. The appropriateness also depends on how you feel about your thigh area. If you’re shy about that part of your body, you can cover up with a longer top.

I've been experimenting with skinny black jeans at work. I feel best when I keep the top half structured, a jacket or nice dress shirt that comes to at least my upper or mid-thigh. I wear flats, either boots or ballerina flats, to keep it more modest looking. A lot depends on where you work though.
