I'd love your opinion on this red skirt from Deborah. I like it, so am wanting to know

1. Other tops to wear with it . You should know that I am wearing it quite low on the hips, so no tucking is possible

2. Should I shorten it?

At the time of dressing these were the only footwear I could think of to wear with it, (I considered my knee high black boots but thought they'd interfere with the hem of the skirt) Afterwards, (on the way to work!) I thought my new leopard rint Mary Jane wedges could also have worked.

It's probably the camera angle, but the proportions look off. The top half looks overly bulky for the slim skirt.. The skirt looks like a great fit on you. The outfit looks warm and cozy.
ETA: it would be worth having the waist taken in so that the skirt doesn't hang on your hips rather than shortening it. I would like to see the outfit without the top pullover.

I'm with Joy -- I think it might require an alteration and then it will be much more versatile. The proportions do look a bit off here but it may be camera angle. Hard to know about whether to hem it until it is fitting properly.

Anne, I never wore that skirt:) I got it into my head I needed a red skirt and then realised I didn't lol.

My work screen is skewing the photos so I am going to have to look at home tonight and get back to you.

The proportions are not great here, Anne. Like others said - maybe it's the camera angle?!

I think that skirt length could be a great addition to your wardrobe. But you'll definitely need to wear a slightly more fitted top. Or, a cropped boxy top will also work well.

I think the boots work well with the skirt, but not so much the top. I love the vibrant red!

I think a more draped loose top or a more slim fit top would work. It is hard to tell the length with this top;I like a midi skirt so would be happy with the current length.

I like the third photo the best by far. 2 is an improvement on 1, but 3 looks best to my eye. What do you think?

Joy - I tend to agree. Now I just have to get my sewing machine to work!!! (It has seized up somehow)

Yes I like 3 too, especially with the boots. I know you wear orthotic friendly shoes so I think the shorter length is going to be better with low heels or flats.

That top looks much better with the skirt!
