Recent purchases and how should I belt?

This is the Limited top I posted about recently, worn over the pants I wore today. I'd probably actually wear them with skinny jeans.

I like it, it's actually more of a plum color than it appears in the picture. I wish it were a little shorter, but that's ok.

Here it is with some new shorts (from Gap) that I wore (I never wear shorts, but I decided to try it). I had tried these shorts on a few weeks ago and thought they looked great, but now I think I may have actually tried on a size 1 rather than this one, which is a size 0. It fits, but light colored seersucker should probably have a looser fit, right?

Love the plum tunic, the color is delicious. I think you are right about the shorts. they look too tight. Adorable white tunic! I like ll the belt options other than the last (super skinny) one.

That purple is really pretty on you. I agree with sizing upon the shorts, and all of these belts look good with the tunic to me.

The tunic looks good, but I would wear it with a black or colored bra.
Shorts have potential but sizing up would be a good idea.
Personally I like the belt in the fuzzy picture the best, and it's a great blouse in any case.

I prefer the wider belts with the tunic shirt and I have to disagree with Scarlet I think a nude or white bra is best under a white shirt x

That is a really lovely top on you, with such a pretty neckline.

I am jealous of your white shirt. How hard is it to find a white shirt that's simple, flattering, fits well and is not see-through?

I like two belts the most - the brown (woven I think) belt and the black skinny adjustable belt. It looks like you have found your sweet spot, which is just great!

If you were wearing the brown belt, I'd love to see it over the shirt and over a dark wash skinny jean (Oh, sorry that's just me pretending to be wearing your shirt tomorrow), or with your black leggings, I'd probably like the black slimmer adjustable belt, just because it sort of ties in. (But then again, I'm still pretty new and trying to work out the whole balancing colours issue, so feel free to ignore!)

Will you try a long necklace as well, or a scarf or something to add extra interest and draw the eye up to your beautiful face? Make sure you post a WiW of the final outfit!

I love that plum color on you and like the skinnies idea for it. I agree to going a size up in the shorts. I like the tunic with both belts. The fuzzy picture one by just a tiny bit more. For the super skinny belt, I would tuck in the piece that’s sticking out. I often see JCrew doing that with belts like this.

Definately size up on the seersucker shorts - at least one size, maybe two.

Angie: I haven't actually worn the plum top yet. It came in the mail yesterday and I was just trying it on with the pants that I had been wearing already.

I went with the brown adjustable belt for today because it's not as fussy as some of the others, esp the wide brown belt (I still don't know what to do with the mass of belt that stays hanging...I guess I need a brown rubber band). Maybe I'll post pictures later in the evening.

I wish I had some red beaded necklaces, they'd be perfect for this outfit. But I don't, so you'll see what I did instead.

Just want to clarify I didn't mean you should wear a black top with the tunic but rather with the plum-colored top.
