Wow - I've never seen Talbot's before - and they ship to Australia!!! Beth, could you tell me you experience with the brand? There are a couple of items of clothing that have *really* caught my eye and I'm just wondering about the fit of the garments in general and the quality of the product.

Talbots has not always been stylish (that has definitely changed over the past couple of years) but their quality is consistently excellent. Particularly in pieces like jackets, the fabrics and the workmanship are top-notch.

Also, amazing sales!

Katiepea, Talbots quality is great. Their clothing is cut generously. I usually have to size down in their clothing. I'm a pretty standard medium in most things...at Talbots, I'd buy a small. Hope that helps.

Katie, Boof, Mac and April are exactly right. The quality is very good, but the fit has historically been boxy. They've typically catered to an older, very conservative customer. In fact, the store with the highest sales figures is in my small city. That tells you something about our style factor here. :O

In the last few seasons, Talbots has really updated their styling. I'm hoping for a more fitted, modern look. If that ends up being the case, they've got a winner.

April, their sales really are good aren't they? There was a Talbot's right across from my office during my internship year (back in 1996) and I got some great basics on an internship stipend:)

Wow - thanks for the quick feedback! Welllllllll, if you guys don't mind, I think I will pinch Beth's virtual catalogue and post some pictures of the pieces I have in mind to get some feedback - you may have just tempted me into making my first overseas clothing purchase! (ie - honest - "No, don't do it!" orrrrr "Yes! It's you!" type comments would be most welcome.)

And MPJ, they were definitely aimed at an older customer. They've tried at various times over the years to freshen up their look, but I think they've finally done it right~
