Reality/Fantasy Challenge

For my fantasy life I don't possess the kind of clothes I'd like. I also would want a slimmer, younger, more hourglass figure to go with them. Photos 1-5 are as close as I could come. I'd like to flutter about in beautiful fabrics but doesn't really desire a life of leisure. I'd like to be busy in a creative field but making a difference.
Photos 6-8 are what I am wearing to teach a class, go to coffee with a friend and go to a women's group this evening where we will be making center pieces for an event. The last photo is the same outfit with my long black vest. Is this better.
I welcome your comments. Oh, and the long cardi is a K/R. Love the color and cashmere fabric, but what do you think?

I love your fantasy life look...Very ethereal...
However, the ah ha of the post, and the thank you for including, is the black blouse and the creme vest with light pants...I have the creme vest and had not thought of the dark blouse and light pants...That is just so absolutely wonderful looking...Now if this crazy cold, gray weather will subside and I can get out the spring gear...please!!!!!

love the fantasy! i hope that you can wear that in reality sometime soon! i perfer the last reality (dark vest), but tha's because i prefer low contrast.

Joy, I love your fantasy outfit. You look great in head to toe white. I love the dark vest versions also.

I'm not as happy with the versions with the cardigan to be honest. It isn't as striking as the vest and doesn't wow me as much. It's nice but not a 10 like the others IMO. It's not bad, just not as flattering to you. It's maybe too boxy looking next to the vest. I like the color and the way you styled it.

You nailed the challenge.

You are a killer knockout in #2. PLEASE wear that outfit. What is stopping you, Joy? You shopped your closet for the look. It's comfy, and just practical enough when the weather is on your side.

I DO like #7. You set a stylish example for your students. Nicely done.

I'd like a few more pics of the vest for K/R, if you don't mind.

#1 is a beautifal outfit. I love the white layers. #2 is great with that white vest. This is a fun challenge.

You are a wonderful vision in white Joy. Your fantasy outfits need to be reality, you look great! The other iterations a fab too. I'm loving the tiny window pane checked pants. From what I can see the vest in the last picture looks like a keeper too.

Wowie zowie on #1. Very sophisticated and swan like... i.e., made for swanning.

#2, interesting very interesting. In some ways, it's like the first. It's not an outfit for roughing it either. But, with the colour swap out, things are much less rarified.

I kinda vote pass on the sweater. It seems short to me for a long cardi.

I love the white, floaty layers. The fabrics look gorgeous and your figure is beautiful. #6-#8 are also very nice. The sweater looks nice, I like the way it dips down in the front.

I do hope to wear my fantasy outfit when it gets warmer, or if the cardigan passes, before. Angie, I will try to get more photos of the cardigan. It is Theory. I thought a longer one would be overwhelming on me and this might be the best length. I am wearing it here over the long vest, which I probably would not do.

Really like the fantasy outfit! I think I have a fantasy life involving lots of cream-colored clothes in beautiful fabrics too.

The version you wore out with the dark shirt under the vest is very cool too -- dramatic and interesting.

Definitely wear the fantasy look. It's smashing. I don't like it with the cardigan as much. Maybe the cardigan needs its own showcase. The outfit you wore is terrific also!

Beth Ann, I am loving this vest. The color is called "bone" and is my most flattering white. I posted the vest as a K/R last fall. My eye has had to adjust to the length but it feels natural now.

MsMary, Your outfits always inspire me, especially to try some new color combinations. The white out feels like a good change once in awhile.

Shevia, that's a great idea to showcase the cardigan more on it's own. I would like to know what to look for in the future if this one doesn't work out. I am more of a jacket girl and cardigans are tough. Maybe I need a knit coat with more structure than a cardi.

Lyn67, those pants are NYDJ from The Rack last year. They are sized up a bit and go with so many things that I have.

I think your fantasy outfit can be a reality outfit too - there's really nothing about it that isn't everyday wearable (for you - for me the all-white would be a sure spill situation). Love the floaty layers.
