Question re Red Shoes

So I've been slowly but surely falling in love with red shoes. Not just any red shoes, but kitten heel pointy toe red shoes. I love the idea of that red point peeking out from under my pants. Am now on the hunt for the perfect pair - would welcome any suggestions!

Because I live in a cold climate and by the end of September will need to wear tights or trouser socks, just wondering if I can wear black with red shoes? And if I'm wearing these adorable red kitten heels with a dress or skirt, can I pair with black tights? If not, what color do I use?

If black and red together is wrong, I'm wrong frequently.

I think red shoes and other accessories should be in the Beginners Guide to Dressing as I think it the the easiest "non-matching" color combo for people who feel they have to match perfectly. It is vampy, yet sophisticated. Sexy, yet refined. Forget black and white - the true yin and yang is black and white and RED.

Ohhhhhh DressLover, you have made my day! What do you think of the shoes attached? They are Aerosoles (I have a bum knee so comfortable shoes are a must) but I think still kinda cute and sexy??? The only thing is, they aren't a true cherry red and toe is not quite pointy enough.

Those look perfect! Red doesn't need to be cherry red to make an impact - in fact, not everyone looks best in cherry red. I think those cranberry heels look both comfortable and cute/sexy, especially with the black piping. They would look wonderful with a white or cream and black outfit.

If you keep the black tights sheer and pretty - absolutely.

I am not a big fan of black opaque tights because I often see them worn in a harsh and dated way. That being said, black opaques can look killer when worn in a modern and fashion forward "Vera Wang" kind of a way.

T.S. you naughty girl! Love those subtle, sexy shoes. I think you should give them a try. The black trim would give you perfect license to wear a sheer black trouser sock/knee highs. I like what Angie said about the opaque black tights. They bother me too, and I couldn't figure out why until she explained it.
