The holidays are giving me a run for my money! The end of my academic semester is looming (giving exams means hearing hours of singing finals, and several doses of Excedrin), and I've just completed a couple of performances (two more to come, but they're smaller). In the midst of this, my father became quite ill. He should be fine, as he's getting a pacemaker tomorrow, but it was a bit scary for a few days!

I'm so happy that I took the time to create a holiday capsule last year! I'm repeating many of these outfits, some of which became FFBO, and adding a few more. I'll be posting these this week, a few at a time.

For now, though, I'll leave you with my purple "Advent coat." It's a simple peacoat, topped with a hat. Since I wore this for a day in Chicago with my DD (we take this trip yearly), I let her choose my hat. I thought she'd go for the velvet hat in #2, since she helped her Dad pick it out for my Christmas present a few years ago, but she chose my grey cloche. Yep. The one that is often perched on the hat stand in many of my photos. Truthfully, one of my berets, or a simply slouchy beanie would be the best match for a coat like this, but I do love me a good cloche!

I've paired the coat with my Levi midrise skinnies, with a single roll, and am wearing pewter Rocket Dog moto boots. They're not pointy toes, but they were comfy and warm, worn with wool socks, on a day when we sat rarely at walked at least 5 miles. My eyelash yarn scarf is warm and carries great sentimental value, having been made by a dear older friend who passed away awhile ago.

#3 is a bonus closeup of me and DD at the Christkindlemarket. That's a reflection of the menorah in the window behind us!
