pregnancy uniform = dresses - YouLookFab Forum

So, it's gotten to the point where the idea of stuffing myself into my pants makes me want to cry. And my chest has also outgrown some of my tops. Needless to say, that hasn't made for a good couple weeks of dressing. Every morning I would pray that I could find something that would be comfortable for the day. Some days I would be successful, others not so. Time and time again, I reached for a dress. So I decided, I'm stocking up on dresses that will camouflage my growing belly a little. It is my hope that I can make them work until I need to do full on maternity clothes.

Here's what I got today for work. I work in a professional environment so I was looking for things I could pop a suit jacket or sweater over. What do you think?

Well, I must say that I've had 3 kids and I never looked as nice while I was pregnant! I like the Alfani dress with the black jacket. Oooohhh, the snakeskin print dress is fabulous! I think the blue of the Limited sweater would also look nice with that dress.

You look fantastic. I was shocked when I saw you with dark hair because I had forgotten about the change. You look so beautiful with dark hair.
I love all of your dresses and toppers. You have great taste and are so good with color. Those beautiful saturated colors go well with your darker hair too.

you look great! it is hard in that inbetween stage isn't it? a bit too bloated for your regular clothes, but not big enough for maternity. You're doing great though. I love those dresses.

That Alfani dress is a lot of fun and I think it looks great with black.
Though I like the orange blazer I'm not sure about it with the dress. I don't have my glasses on though so the colors on your dress look blurry... so maybe it's just me!
Ofcourse the snakeskin dress is AWESOME! Try belting the cardi with maybe a skinny belt too.
Now I'm sorry but I can't remember if there was something else.

The dresses are lovely, and so glad to hear you've found a stylish look that's comfortable as your body is changing. My fave is the snakeskin with the gray jacket. I like the floral with black--does the 3/4 sleeve sweater work with it too? I wonder if the gray jacket would work with the gray dress- sometims a tone on tone combination can be fab.

Thank you, everyone! Garmeta, I would have never thought of trying the grey on grey. I will try that - and the blue sweater with the floral dress. Thanks for those ideas.

I'm glad I have found a way to get through this phase in style. I am fairly certain that had I not found YLF prior to being pregnant, dressing for pregnancy would have been an entirely different story. After lots of hard work, I had really just been getting to the point where I felt great in my clothes and I was so excited about it. I didn't want to give up that feeling. So I was extra motivated.

The challenge, of course, with pregnancy dressing is that you don't have the time usually afforded you when revamping your wardrobe. (I imagine it's somewhat akin to what the ladies who are losing weight also go through.) The beautiful thing is that YLF gave me the tools to think strategically about what I needed to I could make some targeted purchases. I LOVE that!

OMG, Alecia, congratulations! I've been offline for awhile now so I did not see the news. Wow, that is so exciting! I remember you talking about trying to decide if you and your husband were even ready. I guess you are!

Love all the dresses! They are definitely the way to go during pregnancy - so comfy and easy to wear. You look gorgeous and the darker hair is just the icing on the cake.

Alecia, you look absolutely STUNNING in the dresses! So much more relaxed and comfortable than when you used to pose in the living room in your suits. And I love your darker hair; I didn't realize you had gone dark. Love it!
