Turns out we are moving back in a couple of weeks. Like maybe Oct. 5. Definitely sudden, but not unexpected. Original plan was late Nov. maybe early Dec. Found this out day before yesterday.
I don't yet know if I'm flying with the cat, or if we are all driving in the Juke. So pre packing is vague at best. Do I reserve clothing for a 6 day cross country drive or keep out the bulkiest, heaviest stuff to wear/take on a plane? I'm sort of splitting the difference at the moment until I know more.
Belts and bras are in one box, most of the bulkier shoes in another. I have eyed 2 smaller boxes for bathroom/makeup stuff. I think one garment bag will cover all my dresses and the 3 jackets I have here. Funny thing, the bulkiest closet items are going to be my wooden hangers! I shipped just 2 dozen of them out here but am going to try to stagger at least a dozen of them in the garment bag with soda pop tops. Maybe just ship one box with a dozen back with some random sundry items.
I stopped shopping just in time, it seems. It doesn't escape me that 9/9 was my last purchase day - nine being German for no.
I do still have 2 sweaters and a hat on my year's shopping list. I think I will allow myself one sweater when I get back, no matter what. The other might have to wait until employment is procured and secured!
Okay, back to my boxes . . . it's a great way to determine what you really need and what's just taking up space. Brought a small bag to the thrift store and consignment shop yesterday. Tossing unloved lipcolors and old mascaras today. Oh, and nail polishes. All those little things add up before you know it.
