Is the seaming on this jacket flattering?

That's a hard one with the stripes being horizontal yet curved, personally I have always found items unflattering when the stripes continue onto the arms but this may just be me.

Have you tried the coat on, the colour is lovely? Where does the bottom of the coat hit you on the body?

I'm not crazy about how those seams arch up. If they went in the opposite direction, it would kind of point towards the waist, but maybe not even then since they are curved and not angled in a chevron pattern. I agree with Julie that the seaming continuing onto the arms is probably not going to be flattering since it will produce a widening effect.

I did not notice about the seaming extending to the arms till you both pointed it out. No, I did not have a chance to try it. I did see it in store and it looks like it may hit at the hip or slightly lower. It is not much longer than that. The search for a flattering jacket continues.

Julie is spot on about the horizontal seaming on the arms. It's just not flattering. Are you looking for a short puffer elpgal?

Angie, yes, my wardrobe is lacking a nice driving length coat. My current jacket is a North Face fleece that has seen better days.

I am not attached to the idea of a quilted jacket or a puffer. I think what I need is a short jacket that is - shaped but not too form fitting, non-black, hood-less and light-weight.
