playing with DH's tie- does this look stupid?

here's a full length so you get an idea of the proportions. Sorry about the bad lighting. Alsol I realize this sweater isn't the *best* length for the skirt, but I'm dressed and I'm not changing that for today.

here the tie is left longer- which in a full length view I don't think is the best, but I could play with the necklace to shorten it, or double it up...

I like it! The colors go well with the sweater. I like it best worn long, without the necklace, though.

I think it's cute! I like it best with the brooch or the pearls. (I think the sweater's fine, too--but maybe scrunch it up a smidge if you think it's too long with the skirt?)

Yes, I was inspired by your fabulous tie with pearls. Never thought in a million years I'd try it myself, but I was trying to decide between a necklace and a scarf this morning and the thought to raid my hubby's tie collection popped into my head.
I just cant decide whether the tie should be left longer or shorter. At first I felt that it looked better shorter, but now I"m not sure. I can't get a pic at the moment.
So, are you saying it doesn't work as well with the pearl necklace? Too overpowering?

Queenie, what a fun thing to do! I had forgotten about that post and went back to check it out again which makes me think I should go back and study Angie's blog more often...how soon I forget!
Anyway I think it looks cute with the denim skirt. Would your husband mind you trying out other ties in his colection?! It would be fun to see a couple different prints. Maybe also a jacket of some sort with it.

I do think a jacket would be cute with it... it was a bit warmer today though and I was already wearing 2 layers so didn't add a jacket.
And no, hubby doesn't mind me borrowing his ties- he hardly ever wears them anyway. I only saw a couple that I think would look decent on me, but I guess you never know till you try!

I love the variation with the brooch the best, followed by the long necklace. The necklace is the first picture is so beautiful it deserves to be stand alone piece.

Queenie, you DEFINITELY do not look like a moron. The tie + sweater look is fun and the colors match so well, it's great.

I think the tie looks better longer. The short versions look a bit off to me. I also like it best with the long necklace, like in your last photo.
