Planning for my mini vacay. - YouLookFab Forum

I'm going to the city with a friend for four nights in a few weeks. I am taking one suitcase.

Here's my plan so far, provided the weather cooperates. I want four casual day outfits and 4 dressier evening outfits. I went and packed it all to see how it fits and so I have plenty of time to change my mind.

2 pairs denim shorts, 1 light, 1 dark
2 pairs formal shorts, 1 cream, 1 black
2 pairs skinny jeans, 1 white, 1 black
Denim skirt
blue moto jacket
Polka dot plimsols, blue ballet flats, blue midheels sandals, black/white pumps
A bunch of shirts, mostly cropped
Chambray button up
White clutch, white bucket bag, blue handbag
Swimsuit
Boxers and tanks for sleeping in
Undergarments
Sunglasses, jewellry, watch

Outfits

Night

Black shorts, black crisscross crop top, pumps, clutch
White shorts, white chevron sweatshirt, clutch, blue sandals
Black jeans, white top, blue moto, pumps
Pale blue crop, black pleated midi skirt, blue sandals, blue moto

Day

Denim shorts, blue heels, blue lace top, bucket bag
Light denim shorts, blue flats, white chiffon top, bucket bag
White jeans, plimsols, white tee, chambray button up, blue handbag
Denim skirt, chevron top, bucket bag, blue heels

I could probably minimize this a lot, but I am frequently housebound and am looking forward to wearing all my new clothes in public! If it rains, I'll have to rethink as I don't want to wear all that white in muddy weather.

Is it usually sunny in that city or does it rain a lot?
If the city you will visit is on the East coast, don't leave your raincoat or jacket behind.
Other than that, have fun with your new outfits. If it rains you can fall back on your denim and dark jeans.

Where do you plan to wear the night outfits? Shorts are probably fine for a pub, but not so much for a restaurant, unless the city is a very relaxed one.

Halifax. It's pretty casual. The shorts are dressier than what I normally see there.

I say take it and wear it all enjoy your trip. I am in the same boat mostly wearing jeans at work. So I become "extra" when I get a chance to shine.

Hali has been a bit chilly in the mornings and nights lately (as in today one definitely needed pants, a sweater, and a coat), so hopefully it will warm up by the time you are here! Agreed that shorts are far more formal than the leggings/sweatpants most of the gals around here appear to be sporting...if you need to blend in with the locals for any reason, just dress like a hipster. (e.g. scarf, leggings, plaid)

Lol Mikky, the last thing I want to do is blend in! It was freezing here in the Valley. I had to put a fire on. Summer better be good!
