I've barely had a moment to bless myself this week. Had hoped to participate. However, I can still admire everyone's fab interpretations. I love the abundance of colour and pattern. You all look fantastic!

I was a bit analytical with this picture, I think. Instead of seeing patterns, I saw different tones of warm colors. I also wanted to take a break from scarves, hence the necklace.
I think this is the last time I am wearing these boots even though I love them. I slid (which happens often with these boots) and this time took tumble on my derriere in the middle of rush hour in a particulary busy pedestrian square. Both my bottom and my pride took a beating. ouch!

I love your interpretation Bella! Very nice proportions too. I 'get' where you're coming from with the warmer tones. Shame about the boots

I hope I can post. I've been having lots of problems with the internet today.

For me, this was challenging. I love the colours, but it is a lot going on for my taste.

I tried to reflect the swirling intensity with my outfit. Cranberry BR no iron shirt, BR sequin sweatshirt, the magic scarf (again!), pearl and agate necklace, J. Crew jeans, Munro booties, snake and leather belt, and my "lyre" earrings -- an old gift from Mr. Suz in the early 90s...bought in Seatlle. Not my style any more (if ever) -- but I save for sentimental reasons.

So, I took a picture...but I can't wear that. I cut back, swapping out the earrings for simple pearls and taking off the scarf. I would like to eliminate the visible cuffs on the shirt as well. Oh - and I just removed the necklace. Phew!

Will be back to check others' outfits before too long. If my internet holds.

Yay! Today I managed to do an outfit that was inspired by the picture *and* that I love. As soon as I saw the album, I knew this skirt would be perfect: it's a bit brighter red than I usually wear but I couldn't resist the folk-like embroidery. I paired it with blue like in the album, although a more muted blue (my stockings actually are the same blue as my cardi & have a jagged striped pattern but they're reading as darker and solid, oh well), and then put on my most colourful bracelet. I feel like I'm echoing both the colours and the popular art/folk style of the album. I'll be back to look at everyone else's interpretations soon!

E, that is so much fun! What a nifty skirt. No wonder you snapped it up.

Bella, you look glamorous as ever! But I hope you are okay?! If you put a rubber outsole on the boots would they still pass muster? I did that with my Report booties and it made them wearable. Before that they were too slippery.

moni - sad to let that tee go - the pattern seems completely “you.” Also, very interesting that you have fewer of these patterns than you might have expected for your style.

Neel — gorgeous top and love the guitar.

Lyn, I say the same to you. You are having so much fun — but the paisley shirt is beautiful, too!

Joy - can’t get over that unworn outfit — it is perfect!

Hestonian , Aubergine, I am loving your dress outfits. Almost wore one today myself but the weather is too gross and I need to go out later on.

Jeanne, you look great in those pants.

Dee, great to see you join in and I love your hair. The pants and sweater are just the right tones.

Mary, pfffft. This is too easy for you.

Ornella, you had me with the hat and pose!

Astrid, you look cozy and very 70s. In a good way.

Carter — love the necklace with this.

Mo - Love your Santa-na.

Diana, you look stunning in that combination! I hope you will wear again.

Isis - great to see you. These colours are perfect! Nice booties, too.

Laura - I hope you wear that dress often; it looks great on you.

PC, love your boho interpretation.

Amy- you catch the fire of the colours!

I love everyone's outfits so much there's no point in responding individually: I'd just be saying the same thing over and over! This was my fave day so far, and I love how creative some people are being with their poses. Makes me laugh.

Bella, I hope you're ok! I had a nasty fall once (my college had some brick sidewalks, very slippery in winter); I hate it when other people are around because you have to pretend you're not in pain. lol I was going to suggest the same thing as Suz re: soles. My new boots have leather soles & I think I'm going to go get rubber ones added so I don't wipe out.

Joy, your outfit not worn is the best! It's a gorgeous outfit and is so true to the album cover.

Santana's Supernatural album cover made me think of this kind of wild print sweater dress I have, so that's what I went with. Plus, we are having a holiday event at work this evening, so I wanted to dress a little festive.
Sweater dress with reds, greens, black and gray (Nally & Millie), black skinny pants (Comfy USA), black textured cocoon shrug (made by me), silvery bib necklace (?), gray crystal earrings (Dabby Reid), black and burnished gold pumps (Anyi Lu).

Bella, your outfit is fantastic! Sorry to hear about the tumble, though. (I'm scolding your boots. . .Bad boots! Bad, bad boots!) Maybe you could get grippers added to the soles of your boots, so you can keep wearing them!

Suz, I was thinking your outfit was pretty much going on for you, and then I laughed as I read that you took off a few of the items!

E, I love your folk-like skirt and bracelet. That outfit is so pretty on you!

Wow, Firecracker - that is awesome!

That is an incredible dress Firecracker! I love how you styled it too, I really admire the silhouettes you create. And then you have your fab curly bob topping things off!

Isis- Those colors love you back!

Laura- Your dress is fabulous and cheerful

Peacechick- yeah, more paisley! Very pretty.

Ami- love the hectic paisley, very cute with the cons. You
and your photo bomber make me smile.

Bella- love you color blocking take. Those boots are fab but not safe…I say purge
them. Glad you didn’t get hurt.

Suz- I actually love your simplified version.

E- you look great, so happy you played along and had fun
with it.

Firecracker- wow, what a fabulously fun dress.

Again I am in awe of everyone's fab interpretations. This album cover seriously had me stumped because I just done own anything that busy!

Joy's unworn is just awesome! Suz - also so fantastic!!!!

I didnt snap a WIW but I have worn the outfit before here but instead of the beads, I wore the pendant in the pic below. The image reminded me of the whimsical images on the cover.

I didn't get dressed until after 1. It's normal on a swimming day. My hair is still wet and I was going to try harder with maybe some boots and something a little with a Latin flair but I got lazy. When I saw the album cover I did know I wanted to wear this top.

That's a great pendant Hil

Tracina, I love your outfit! A fun, fresh look--and you got to go swimming, so it's a good day. Are those pants recent (as in, maybe available somewhere)?

I saw a lot of warm colors in the album cover - which are not flattering on me - but, I also saw a very crazy pattern mix too. So, I took this silk sleeveless patterned tunic out of the "holding" bin and layered it over a patterned (polka dots and tie dye!) jersey shirt - and - ta-dah! Crazy pattern! On the bottom I wore my black slouchy skinnies and cognac suede booties (for more warmth.) And, I was done. However, I just couldn't wear this because it is really not me anymore - just too hectic. So, I snapped the pic and then changed out of it for the rest of the day! (I know, I'm cheating!)

ETA: Wow, that pic is really dark! I lightened it up and added it as well - hopefully you can see more of the colors in the 2 tops!

I'm amazed how many people have colorful prints that go so well with this cover! Even though these are core colors of mine I didn't have anything colorful and printed that worked well. Lots of red jeans (high fives!), sassy poses (O and Amy), and nice to see more dresses pop up today, too. Astrid and Mo, you are lounging in style indeed. Neel and Lyn67, how cute are you with your guitars ^^

This album cover made me panic a bit: chaotic color AND chaotic pattern? It really packs a punch! I knew I couldn't get together an outfit that had both aspects which still felt like me, so at the start of the week I had planned a monochrome b/w hectic pattern mix since the cover's chaotic pattern is what impacts me most. But as the temperatures dropped this week, I realized that outfit wouldn't be warm enough and came up with a warmer alternate going down the hectic color route. I ran with the similarly saturated tones in the cover, with a column of red-orange/red (focal points on the cover) surrounded by blues (background). And just a bit of print in the scarf/micro-micro fishnets. And and proper print mixing in the outerwear. Right! So, uh.... bright color averse, shield your eyes

Aida, that's awesome!

Hi guys,
I am working with a super corporate client this week, so this challenge was particularly difficult. I dropped out for day 1-3 Here is my humble contribution for today. The pants are actually ink blue. They are the LOFT Marissas, in tall (available online). These are long enough for 3 inch heels, right off the rack. As you can see, I went by the colors of the cover.

Thank you everyone for sharing. I am loving everyone's interpretations.

Thanks again Bella for putting this together. It is brilliant that you are participating more in the forum. We have missed you around here.

This one was SO hard for me! It highlighted the lack of printed tops or dresses in my wardrobe...gotta fill that hole. I'll admit that I wear more color since joining YLF, but sheesh that's A LOT of color! After contemplating several bright scarves and other options, I finally rescued this maternity top from the donate bag. The psychedelic print and colors seemed appropriate. I wasn't loving this outfit when I left home this morning, but I'll be darned if I didn't get more compliments on this top than on anything else I've worn this week- go figure!

Everyone's outfits are so pretty and colorful! Me and Frankenboot had a tough time with this one. An active and "dress down" day at work, plus a foot doctor visit where because of the way I have to sit in the chair it's best not to wear a skirt or dress, meant all my skirts were ruled out. Santana's Latin style of music made me think of my somewhat tropical looking Gap shirt. For comfort and practicality, this was what I wore.

I am loving all the colours and prints. And some of these outfits are like perfect 10s, challenge or no challenge... Jenava, Tracina, E, JJ, Carter, Diana, Mo, Isis, Laura, Amiable. And Lyn... wow!

Giggling at Ornella and Neel and Lyn's antics, and Suz having to pare down through the day.

Astrid, award for most awesome loungewear ever! I would wear that out shopping, to the movies or the doctor's...

MaryK, I don't believe there's a palette you can't reproduce. I am in awe.

Jewell, isn't that an awesome maternity souvenir, now?

This is my favorite day of the challenge, some of you really aced it! Neel, Amy, Laura, Diana, Tracina, MaryK and Marley, just to name some who hit all the colors I love that some of you had to rescue clothes from the donate pile. You never know when a hectic print may be needed!

Also, is it Carter's birthday? Happy birthday!

Amiable, that outfit is great for this challenge, and you look good in it! You have me wondering if you'll keep the shirt a while longer.

Aida, that's one of my favorites of yours ever. Love, love the brights you've combined, and the white coat as topper is perfection.

Marley, I love the tops together--brilliant! They look good on you, but maybe they're just not your style anymore? I like the way you've kept everything else simple.

Zapotee, what a pretty, polished outfit. Hope your meeting was as fab as your style.

Karie, that's creative thinking. You do look like a ray of sunshine to face your day.

Jewell, that's a pretty top on you--easy to see why you got compliments. Isn't it funny, though, when that happens?

Oh gosh I love all the outfits!!!! I will have to come back and respond to every outfit (in between cooking and doing dishes!) I have never seen so many colors on YLF before! This is my favorite thread!

Cannot find the Day 5, anybody?

OK, I was too tired to get this together last night, but here is my Santana outfit. I didn't love it...I think I had planned different shoes but flat, comfy boots looked so appealing...I wore the only red in my closet the day before, so I added a pink bangle instead.
