Now, here are some pictures of my purchases:

1-2: Grey Halogen suit (the sleeves and pants need hemming)

3-4: Brown plaid Halogen suit (unsure if I'll keep; what do you think of the color on me?)

5: Halogen chiffon blouse and purple rosea seamed pencil skirt

6: Halogen chiffon blouse and ocean blue seamed pencil skirt

7: Nexx tunic and Halogen purple & black seamed pencil skirt

My Lafayette jacket and leather jacket are en route...will post those pics later.

First of all, you look amazing in the pencil skirts and blouses (we are Nexx blouse twins) I really like the first suit, the fit and color are so flattering, I'm not so crazy about the brown suit, the color just seems a little lack luster, if that makes sense. You have some great and versatile workhorses here! Score.

The grey Halogen suit is lovely on you. I'm not loving the brown suit on you in terms of colouring. The blouses and pencil skirts are all good.

You look like a model. Beautiful! Everything looks great. I particularly like the first suit. The second is nice, but something about the cut isn't as pleasing as the first one. I don't think the color is a problem.

That grey suit is outstanding. Love the fit and color for you. I also think the pencil skirts are winners. I really like the way you played with the graphic nature of the skirt and top in the last pic.

I think the brown suit is good and would have been supportive if I hadn't already seen how fab the grey is. It looks like the brown is a touch long waisted for you and you get a bit of poof action between the chest and waist. Not a lot and it would likely be fine undone, but it isn't up to the level of the grey.

I'm so glad to see suits coming around again, and both of these are great on you. The fit of the grey jacket is especially flattering on you. The brown is good too, and the only thing keeping it from being a 10 is some altering to make the jacket a bit more fitted.

The skirts are fabulous on you.

You made some wonderful decisions with your NAS purchases. The grey suit is stunnining and, to my eye, is superior to the brown suit. I think the brown suit might require a different palette of colors for the blouse and accessories and, if you already own all of these and need another suit, I say keep it. Otherwise I would return it, as the shoes, blouses, handbags, etc. might add up to a money pit. Love the pencil skirts and
i agree...you should be modeling for Nordstrom!

Wow! Thank you all for those ego-boosting comments!

A lot of it has to do with my husband's amazing photography skills.

It's nice to have your useful feedback confirm my instincts re. the brown suit. I wasn't sold on the jacket fit, and didn't especially love the color. I already have a lovely brown plaid jacket by Boden and it is more fitted and vibrant. I think I'll keep the pants though, as they are very versatile and a good fit.

The brown suit would work fine with something to brighten it up, if only a radiantly white blouse. Add a scarf with some peach in the pattern, or a coral necklace, and it could be a killer. Or a burnt orange top and a scarf with white in it. Or a cream blouse and vibrant jewelry. (Yes, my imagination is having fun.)

You look great in suits and in pencil skirts and those shoes are real winners, as far as I'm concerned.

I love you in the outfits with color! You look amazing in pictures 5-7. The suits you purchased look like long-wearing staples. My advice would be to wear colored blouses or sweaters underneath, or brighten the suits with colorful accessories / shoes /bags. I don't mind the grey or brown colors on you at all, they just need some color. It looks like I've gotten used to all the color from this season and my eye craves more of it.

JR & Denise: I do own colorful tops that I could pair with the suits, but was too lazy to do that for this shoot!

Zap: I think I'll return the brown jacket & skirt, but keep the pants.

I think the others have said it all. The brosn suit not so good, the grey suit, skirts & blouse are fab. I did a doubevake looking at your photos I thought you were the pomo model epecially in the last photo - what a beautiful smile.

Thanks for responding, especially when it's such a busy time for you. Hope you're holding up OK with all your NAS appointments?!

I think I will pass on the brown suit...it also has an odd wrinkling problem in the back and I prefer to wear my fall/winter jackets buttoned. Sizing up to alter down will probably make it too big in the shoulders.

I wanted the blouses a bit loose...do you think I went too far?

Hi Sunita. Beautiful! Don't ditch the browns...they look great! Everything looks fantastic on you. Home run. Everything looks like it was made for you!(Even more so after the little alterations.) Love your style, really pretty selections. Love love the colorful skirts, but love the suit sets too...definitely. Keep them all!!! I can imagine your suit picks with elegant shoes and colorful blouses or camisoles! Agree with Angie's immaculate eye...blouses a little big? Very pretty, Sunita!!

you already decided on the suits...so I'll tackle blouse...the shoulders and arms are fine...but I would get the waist darted to fit a bit better and not puff out...the do that because we are girls,,,not straight boys. Maybe it is darted already and just needs touch more?

Jayne, did you mean only the Nexx blouse or both? I think I should have sized down in the Nexx blouse, but now they're out of small petites...grrr!

Just chiming in to respond to your question about brown: personally, I think it's fine with your coloring. My own rule with brown is always to mix it with "sharper" neutrals such as true white and also black. I treat brown more like a color than like a neutral.

My goodness, you did well at NAS! I love seeing everyone's purchases.

Not much of a help but just wanted to say I loved the brownish suit better:-( for a reason I cannot articulate, but the grey is also very pretty. Loveley work capsule, good finds.

I love everything you got! I'm surprised how much I love the grey color on you, too. You look gorgeous from the first picture on! I especially love the last outfit. I find it interesting that Angie says to size down on the shirts because I thought they looked good. I'd be interested to see the smaller size on you.

I checked the sizing on those blouses last night. The polka dot one is a petite S (they're out of petite XS) and the Nexx one is a regular S (they're out of petite S but I'll try the petite XS).
