About your wardrobe and personal style

Picked my glasses!!

Those you you have been around for a few months may have read various threads about my search for glasses. - Well I have made a decision. I went to the shop yesterday meaning to take more pics and get back to you guys for a final decision BUT they were having a sale that ended on the day so we decided to just go for it. I am pretty sure this was one I have showed before and that Angie, though not everyone, approved.

Here is is with my wearing pink. If you think it doesn't work with pink I guess I'll just have to wear my old glasses with pink outfits. As requested I have shown more of my head and body with these pics.

(As a side issue, and relating to Angies post today on language difference, I did think of calling this thread 'I found m' gogs". Gogs is clang here in Aus for glasses, used by my parents or more so, grandparents generation. Is that expression used or heard of by anyone else?

I think the glasses look great on you! The color really brings out the blue of your eyes, and it looks nice with your hair. Nice choice.

To me the red with the pink shirt looks fine, but I'm not an expert on these things.

Nice choice! Very pretty.
No I've never heard of the word gogs for glasses. I laugh when my Australian pen pal tells me some words you use there. I get the feeling you are an easy going fun bunch.

Anne, I think you made a good choice with the glasses. The color really pops. I think you can wear red with *anything*, including pink. Remember Angie's post about the edgy color combo of fuschia and red? This isn't exactly fuschia, but it works too.

Oh yay, LOVE the color and the shape!
I am an unabashed fan of red glasses. They are so fun to wear.

Anne - you look great! The red brings out your skin tone and hair color. and I think you can wear it with pink.

Yes!! Those were the ones Anne! I absolutely love them, your entire face lights up! And I don't see a problem whatsoever with pairing them with pink.

I bet you'll be getting loads of compliments this weekend!

They are great, Anne. How fun! I like the pink and red together. You look lovely!

Great choice!! They really brighten up your face. I also chose red glasses, and plan on wearing them with everything (since I got a new prescription & can only afford one new pair this year). The red & pink defintiely work for me!

Congrats on making that difficult decision. I also have to add that your hair is sooooo pretty!

Good choice, Anne! They look great on you- as others have said, the colour really makes your eyes and hair "pop". A warning, though- having such nice glasses will only make you want more! I have three pairs in rotation and I'm constantly craving more;)

Thanks for all the positive comments - I haven't had computer access for a few days so haven't been able to respond till now.
BTW I got them with (what we in Australia call) non-reflective lenses ie they won't reflect in photos.
I hope they are worth it because they cost almost as much as I sometimes spend on clothes for a year! (so Ele I will have to resist the temptation to get any more)
San - I'd say, generally speaking you are right - Aussies are an easy going bunch.
Becky - thanks for the reminder about fuschsia and red.
Tarzy - thanks for compliment re hair (I am about to try and change hairstyle though, more posts to follow!)

thanks again all (now I have 4 days of YLF posts to catch up on!)

Hi Anne,

love the glasses - but then again I am a HUGE red fan.

Even though I'm Aussie, I haven't really heard gogs? are you in QLD? maybe it is a location based thing, I know between VIC, NSW and QLD we all use different words for the same thing.

Hope you send through some updates with your new glasses and hair shortly! ;)

Hi Monica - I'm in the West, and there are definitely some regional differences in language.

I think the gog thing is pretty old fashioned. My Dad said it sometimes, he would have been in his sixties now and had parents born in the 1900s and my other grandfather, who also said it, was born in the 1910's. Short for goggles.

I need some help with the hair, so will post about that soon. Glasses are ordered but haven't picked them up yet!

Glad you like them
