About your wardrobe and personal style

Phoenix Represents

I am thrilled to report that Lesley and I connected this weekend (Nordstrom pre-sale, what else?). YLF is now properly and officially represented in Phoenix, and I have a fab new friend. The shopping was a bit disappointing, but the experience was anything but. As you can see from the photos, Lesley lights up a room, I mean she literally radiates positive energy and beauty. Plus, she's just plain fun and funny.

There are two Nordstrom stores in our area, and we had both previously and independently shopped the pre-sale at the Scottsdale location, where we picked up some lovely new things (highlights included a killer Marc Jacobs bag for Lesley and a Nanette Lepore jacket for me). Lesley will need to give a full report on her purchases, which were carefully considered, smart additions to her wardrobe. Together we shopped the Chandler store, which did not have a very good selection, but followed up with a fruitful visit to Express. Here are a few highlights:

THIS is how you to wear a moto vest, my friends. Shut up!!!

Lesley did not purchase this dress, but looks fab nonetheless.

I just love seeing all of the YLF ladies team up in shopping trips. I really don't have budget for the "good stuff" but love to shop vicariously through the rest of you!

Both of you look fantastic and radiant! I hope that Lesley ended up with the moto vest or something similar - she looks awesome. Kyle, your new hairstyle looks so, so pretty, and I hope we get to see your new jacket.

You two are so gorgeous and I am in awe of your shoe-wearing abilities. It's fun seeing everyone's NAS partnerships, even if it makes me jealous!

You are both fab!
My favorite photo is the one with the shoes.. Fab shoes and boots!!!!!!!!!!!

You two are TRUE fashionistas in every way. So glad you finally got together; the salespeople in Phoenix are in for a treat now!

That dress is stunning on Lesley; why didn't she get it?

Go Phoenix! Looks like you two tore the place up!

Next time I visit my parents, I am going to email you guys ... I want in on the fun :)

Oh my goodness! I'm so envious of all the ylf togetherness that's happening. It looks like SO MUCH fun. And so stylish I can't even stand it.

By the way, Lesley, your gold sandals are amazing!

Too fun!! So glad you guys had a great time and got some shopping done to boot. Btw you both have highly amusing writing styles. Your turn of phrase cracks me up!
Maya, you have a partner in jealousy right over here! :)

OMG! You girls are having too much fun, without me of course ;-)
Lesley, you look AMAZING in the moto jacket and that beautiful dress. I hope you do find another moto jacket because you rock this one :-)

Kyle, are there any photos of you modeling anything? I'd love too see those :-)

The shoe aftermath picture cracks me up! That is exactly how I'd want a store to look after a day of shoe shopping with friends. You are two, beautiful, uber stylish ladies!!

So lovely! Thanks for sharing your fun day. The shoe photo is just too much, love it. :)

The Nordstrom shoe dept hit by a ylf storm :) Look at those heels!

Did you think that the NAS was too Fall oriented for Phoenix market? Isn't your warm weather going to last well into November?
Just curious.

It looks like a fab day despite how much was purchased.

Completely awesome!! I'm starting to believe NAS isn't really all that fun unless you go with a local YLF friend. Ana and I were remembering that last year's NAS was our first shopping expedition together (we had met for the first time at lunch a few weeks earlier). So we consider NAS our "anniversary" and now it's yours too, and Laura and Kristen's and who else?

So the snakeskin boots in the pic are the ones I got! Did they work for either of you? I can't wait to hear what you picked up, Lesley. And Kyle, I hope you will model your jacket as soon as you get it. ;)

Chris, we have the same fall problem in Austin and the salespeople are well aware of it, I think. I think our store added sandals to the shoe selection but otherwise I think they just stress the great prices and people get caught up in the fun of the new stuff.

Awwwwww, maaaaaan!!! That was FUN! Too bad we met at the store with the weaker selection. It's funny...their selection wasn't as good, but their display of the merchandise was better. Go figure...

Anyhoo...Kyle is the TRUTH! She is a statuesque, stylish, warm person. She gave me some much needed girlfriend time, provided feedback on my purchases, and put up with my antics in the shoe department. I now have a witness to the "thorn in my flesh" - that is finding stylish shoes in 9.5N. I can't wait to get together again.

Laura: Come on out, girl! It's HOT, but we're cool! ;-)

Patience: That moto vest pic was for you, dear! The cream blouse was the one I was talking about on your NAS thread. The brand is Joie, and it comes in cream and a raspberry color. Perhaps you could find a similar blouse that is maternity? Also, the SW booties are killer, but too loose on my feet. I also tried the purple suede peep toe pumps *drooling*, but no luck with my narrow feetsies. The shoe hunt continues...

I'll post my "loot" on another thread.

Bumpin' for Kyle, Laura, and Patience!

Lesley & Kyle, you're on! I'm hoping to be in Phoenix in November when temps cool off a bit. My mom works at a boutique on the outskirts of the Chandler mall and they have super-cute knockoffs of designer jewelry and bags ... we MUST get together!

Thank you, Lesley! I was wondering if that blouse was the one you were talking about. I will look for it on Fri.

Big bummer about the shoes. :( Have you tried Aquatalia? They seem narrow and run small but maybe with your extra narrow feet, your regular size would actually work. Something like these:

OMG ladies you look so gorgeous! Thanks for the little report. I love the moto jacket on you, Lesley. And I'm curious, why didn't you buy the dress? I think it looks amazing on you.

Posted 8 months ago

Antje,

I bought the Express (minus the) leather vest instead. The one I tried at NAS had a bit too much going on for me, and I'm trying the look for the first time.

I didn't buy the dress because it's not really my style. It did fit nicely though. Plus, I've got bigger fish to fry, like finding shoes for F/W, along with other wardrobe essentials.

Thanks for the kind words. Glad to see you again.

Wow! You two are HOT.

Posted 8 months ago

Ms. Lesley -- please post your fab new outfits -- I am dying to see. So you got the moto vest at Express -- how about the jeans?
