Perfect Doc Martens for an Urban Lady Prince

I'm in loooooove with these new Docs - to me, they are the perfect combination of rugged and ladylike. I am seriously thinking these could be a great pair of spring boots - what do you think of these for me?

They are super cute and rugged at the same time. I haven't seen you dressed much outside of work wear, what do you normally wear on your spare time?

They seem kind of juvenile with the floral lining. Also not really seeing how these s*^%&kickers could be worn to work. Would you be ok with only wearing them for OTG?

I think they look a bit too RATE to be Urban Lady Prince. They look like the Triumph boot I think but in a different finish and lining?

As a child of the nineties, I love them. But as the other have pointed out, not sure how practical.

Give it time, another few years the 80s will have faded and docs will be worn with everything again! Okay, so now you know my secret fanasty.

I'm with Suz. Urban Princes and Urban Lady Princes sometimes wear distressed items but we are not Rugged

Angie - those Docs are FAB! I can picture them with different types of jeans, slouchy khakis. I would even wear them with a denim skirt or a black dress - do you think they would work?

Yeah, the lining makes them feel twee. The Pollock-like print is more artsy/grown. You are having a love affair with Docs, though!

Definitely worth a try, Shannon. Ponder about it a little more. You have lots on your wish list :). Can you see how the original Docs shape are not rugged per se, but crisp workwear and a lot more refined.

And Docs were originally created as work boots in the UK. I respect the original designs of things (Docs, Raybans, Converse, the 2.55, Gucci loafers) and support them wholeheartedly. It's a legacy I want to see continue.

Yes, I have been enjoying buying Docs lately after a 20 year hiatus from owning them! I just ordered the Amory heeled oxfords...they are like the shoe version of Diana's Clemency docs. I can't wait until they are here!
