Pencil skirts - keep or not?

I decided to try the pencil skirt look when I saw two ruffled styles on sale online from Express. Here are the photos:

I'm not sure this cut works on my rectangular frame. They feel good through the hips but then nip in at the waist (and the waist is fairly high), so I feel a bit like I'm being poked in the stomach. I worry that my stomach pooches over the top of the waistband a little bit and it looks bad.

What do you think?

You have a great figure and I think you will find that you can wear alot of styles. You look great in these skirts. Go for it!

The first skirt doesn't drape quite right, I think, but the second one is super! I looove Express pencil skirts, and you look great in it!

I agree with Antje -- there's something funky about the fit on the first one. But second one looks lovely on you!

Okay, so now I know what body type those awesome ruffle pencils look good on -- YOURS. The grey one almost looks too loose, but the plaid one is an absolute KEEPER.

Wow, thanks for the comments! I feel so excited that the second one works so well. I can't believe I got a KILLER.

Elpgal - I spent a while last night sitting in the skirt, and it felt fine. So I think it will work.
