It must have been a huge thrill for your sister to be at the Oscars, Una! What a GREAT accomplishment - and a fun story to tell the grandkids. I caught Mother Dolores Hart on the red carpet. She caused her share of raised eyebrows and curiosity, which can only be good for the film!
Wheee - I am *really* looking forward to your Oscar gown thoughts and evaluations, Angie! It's always exciting to dish about the good, bad, and ugly...and I am predicting a few style *fail* critiques amidst the really exquisite gowns.
So, I caught most of the night's red carpet arrivals, and a segment of the ceremony. (I'm still a bit perplexed at Angelina Jolie's leg-sticking-out drama...!) Anyway, gowns that I loved: Natalie Portman's vintage red, Sarah Hyland in lilac, Penelope Cruz's off-the-shoulder ballgown, Jessica Chastain's black & gold, Gwyneth in white, and Cameron Diaz' brushed gold. I thought Emma Stone's red one-shoulder gown was VERY dramatic and gorgeous, but somehow didn't match her rough voice and casual mannerisms. Anyway, in pictures, she looked pretty stunning! Oh, and Mila Jovovich had a sparkly pretty one-shoulder number too.
Here you go - a roundup of the dresses, for all who missed it:
