Hmm, I think the trick for us shorter girls is to make sure that the boots don't make our ankles look thick and our legs stumpy. Can you try them on at a store and take some pictures?

I'm not keen on ankle boots where the top finishes above the ankle with skirts/ dresses. I think they look better when the height is lower/ below the ankle i call them shoe boots, like the pink ones on the left of the picture you posted not the purple ones on the right IMO those are too high up the leg and need to be worn with trousers x

As Bella said, this look will be tricky to get right when you are short. My thoughts are the sleek lower topped boots Loulou suggests with high heels and to shorten the dress to above your knees and match tights and shoe color. Even then a slim tall boot may be better. The blue dress is so pretty on you!

I like the look but I think the trick might be to have the boot fit your ankle quite well and perhaps end below the ankle, match tights to the boot colour and have a skirt end above the knees. It could look very edgy!

Maybe you should buy a pair, experiment and post photos up here! I'm planning on giving it a go this winter if I find boots in the right price bracket, i.e. low!

I have seen this look on short and tall girls and it isn't one I have gotten excited about on anyone -- if you are going to do it though the right track would be to keep the tights the same color as the boots so they don't cut your leg line short

I actually have always admired the look and even though I am tall I have never had the courage to wear it. I think you have to try the boots on and take pictures, it is a hit or miss. It will depend in large part on how the boots are shaped as everyone has said. Give it a go. You're young. Have fun. I didn't and now I regret it.

Yes, I think you can pull it off. As the ladies have mentioned, make sure to match the tights and shoes so you have a continuous leg line. The shootie would be a good bet, since they end under the ankle.

I think it could work especially if the shoes are similar to the first pair in the series. I also admire this look - I think it is very urban & chic. Definitely worth experimenting!

Thank you! So many good advices, I will look for boots ending under the uncle (also good to wear with jeans) and pair the color of the boot with the color of the tights.
I'll hem the dress also!
