Opinions on these black boots please

Could I have your opinion on these boots please? I would like a pair that would work with skinnies or skirts. I have a pair of flat dark brown slouchy boots, so I'm looking for smooth leather (or pleather) and a short heel. They don't show the toe clearly, but from the sole they look a slightly rounded square.

Very good. How do you intend to wear them? Are you gooing to wear them with tights and skirts, tucked in skinny jeans?

They'd be for skirts and for skinny jeans.

I found these too, I really like them and Doc Martens makes good quality boots. They're still fairly classic, but a little updated. What do you think, will they date more quickly?

The Doc Martens are at Overstock for $100, so there wouldn't be that much of a price difference.

Uh oh, Overstock lured me with "only one left!" and I ordered the Docs! Well, shipping is only a few dollars, so I can try them without much to lose. Maybe I'll go to Rogans and try the other ones too. There goes February's clothing budget, and it's only January.

I actually prefer the Docs--I don't love the squarish toe on the first pair.

They are both gorgeous - and such different feels.

I looked at your profile and since you are in a creative field, I would vote for the Doc Martens, I think that they are magnificent. I hope they look good on you and you can get to keep them.

I like the first ones, only because I don't love the quirky heel on the Docs. Apart from that, I would just figure out which ones are more comfortable. That is so important in boots since, unlike pumps, you can't slip your feet out of them for a few moments under your desk...
