Opinions needed: Yellow blazer

I love this jacket, but I wonder if it would be too garish for me and limited in use.
It would look so cool for Angie's column of denim formula, but is it too wild?

I've seen it in person in black, and it's really well made and the fabric has a luxurious feel.

Yay: Buy
Nay: Find something else

I think it would look terrific on you! From what I'm hearing, a bright blazer can be a lot more versatile than you would think, especially if you already have a lot of neutrals.

I would wear this in a hot second Parsley (if I could wear yellow). It's gorgeous! I love the cut of it and single closure.

Beautiful cut and beautiful color. It is very bright but gorgeous and will look so good with neutrals. I swoon thinking about it with gray. It's a YAY. Just prepared for a lot of attention when you wear it.

I'm really drawn to this jacket, for some reason- I've had it in my shopping cart for weeks and I keep going back to it. It's expensive, and part of me says it wouldn't be versatile enough to be worth it.

This is why my wardrobe has been all black and gray! I look at something like this jacket and I say "Oh, it's gorgeous, but black or gray would be so much more practical and go with everything." So then I don't own anything that makes a statement.

Also, I wonder, is this for my "aspirational life" and not my real life? Here's another colorful jacket that I've looked at, which is totally different, but probably my CPW would be WAY lower.

But I'm still drooling over the yellow one...

Take this advice for what it's worth Parsley, but I think every now and then, you have to go with the one you're drooling over. Not everything we purchase has to be 100% practical - and the jacket may surprise you and be more versatile than you think. Would look great with black, grey, white, navy...just saying.

I think it is a great blazer if you suit this color. Yellow is not an easy color to wear but if this shade suits you go for it.
Actually if a lot of things in your wardrobe is grey they would go beautifully with yellow!:-)

I appreciate all of your comments! Yes, I could return it if it doesn't work. I *think* I can wear this color, but I sure wish I could try it on in a store to know for sure.

Unfortunately it's a pre-order, so I won't have it until March. And I want to figure out my spring wardrobe NOW! (Can you tell that unlike Angie, patience is not one of my virtues?)

Garish is as garish does, I say. And you are so classy you couldn't be garish if you tried!!

As for versatility, I will tell you that I have worn my bright yellow skirt almost once a week since I got it. It goes with everything: Green, purple, gray, black, white, navy, teal, red, coral -- you name it!

Una, I wish I had something this color to show. You have to understand that pre-YLF I truly had virtually ZERO other colors in my closet but black, gray, white, and denim, except accessories. Maybe I'll head to Target or somewhere just to hold something up to my face that's this color. I'm super pale and freckly, so maybe it won't be a good color for me, and that would put me out of my misery.

Mary, I knew I could count on you for encouragement to let loose with bright colors!
