!1) It's too much, especially because it's wool, I work in a very casual office, and it's already almost 80 degrees during the day in Austin.

Q2) I posted it so someone else might have the joy of ownership - like you!

Q3) No, don't think it would be too wide?

Darn it, it's not my size! Besides, I think my husband would stage an intervention if I bought another jacket....sigh!

It's really fabulous, and that is a great price! In case anyone is seriously considering it, I think Smythe runs small, so this one (an 8) is equivalent to a 6 for most other retailers. I'm usually a 2-4 on top and my Smythe is a 6 but I'm also quite full in the chest.

It is definitely a strong shoulder IMO, from looking at some of the other pics online. The Ebay pics may not give the whole effect of it, since both the model and Kim Kardashian are at angles. And, Ms. KK is... not an IT.

I only mention it since you asked about the shoulders. Not sure if you were asking if they are too wide to *fit* or too wide for your shape. If you are interested in the strong shoulder look, it's a cool and unique piece. In case you want to know the resell odds, here are the recent sales records on Ebay.

So I do love tthis jacket, but I'm going to take a deep breath and pass it up. The shoulders have me pretty worried, and I'm not in the market for another cropped/grey/moto style at this price. I am going to grit my teeth and wait for the RIGHT Smythe jacket.

It's a good exercise in forbearance for me - something I really need to learn.

Any other takers?

Una, to view the sold prices, search for a similar item (e.g. Smythe blazer) and then check the "completed listings" box to the left. I use this whenever I list to figure out pricing and liklihood of a sale.

I know the perfect Smythe jacket will turn up someday!
