So I though I'd better give you an update on my foray into the OTK boot trend.

I ordered the Clarks 'Bizzy Girl' in Grey suede and black neporene mix. Firstly, I have to say that the quality when I got them out of the box seemed fab. They were very well made and the suede was good. Now, I can always wear a Euro size of 37 which is classed as a UK 4, but in reality a 37 is about a 4.25, which is perfect for me....however these were a UK 4 and a tiny bit snug. The half size up had sold out everywhere and at first I was disappointed, but then I though I might give the potato trick a try if I was going to keep the boots.

I then decided to have a proper try on session of the boots and took photos with two different tones of tights and a skirt to see what I thought of them.

And...I realised that I really don't care for how my legs look shapeless in them...like a straight up column from ankle to knee. I much prefer the look of a standard knee high boot. I also didn't like the ultra-flatness of these boots. Yet a heel in OTK boots can easily veer into Julia Roberts PW territory. The main point is that its the straight shape that really put me off. I'm going to stick with my beloved knee highs from now on.

But at least I tried them

ETA...some new boots are on their way to me. A sort of knee high/OTK hybrid. See further down the thread for photo.
