Since Angie was on the topic of boyfriend jeans this morning... I'm always on the lookout for denim ideas. Here are some on my list.

1 and 2 -- The Upscale Pajama Jean -- Courtesy of Rag & Bone.

3 - Denim overalls -- not exactly new but new to this forum. Anna rocks them. Anyone else?

4 and 5 - Mom jeans -- Also not exactly new, but catching on. This has a higher rise than a boyfriend, is more fitted through the hip but nice and roomy in the thigh, while tapered at the ankle. Rag & Bone calls this fit the Marilyn. Also available at UO, where they call a spade a spade.

Well probably none. But the first 2 really didn't appeal while the mom jeans aren't too much. Looks pretty simlar to what I wore in about 1989!

Keep in mind I am not a denim connoisseur:) I am not crazy about any of these personally but I find each style has it's appeal. #1 & 2 do look incredibly comfortable, but not enough structure for me. I do quite like the overalls but I am definitely too dumpy for this look... people might think Im pregnant lol. The mom jeans are the only ones I might consider but I would definitely wear my tops over them hiding the waist and tummy areas. I do like the leg line.

Hmmm just took a look and the mom jeans are avail in black from UO !

I love that the Rag and Bone Miramar is actually a pair of sweatpants digitally printed to look like a pair of old jeans. It's the first rendition of this I've seen that actually looks like it might pull it off well (I hate those leggings that were popular a few years back that had fake stitching seams and fake pockets printed on them to try and make them look like they were skinny jeans. I thought they were really tacky looking, personally.

I'd actually try these Rag and Bone ones if they looked as good in person as they do in the photo -- but there's not a snowball's chance in hell I'd pay anywhere near $300 to do so (or for real jeans for that matter)

Probably would pick up the mom jeans... but oh was I an overall lover back in the day... loved them loved them loved them...

I love denim. Denim jeans, jacket, shirts and even hats. Once I had a denim bag and denim winter coat. If I was in my twenties I might try the overalls. I had a pair when I was in high school. I am not drawn to any of these styles.

Not sure if I can imagine wearing the mom jeans - I would have to try them on and see. My first choice would be #2.

I love the idea of upscale pajama jeans. If I saw something like the Miramars with a little less distressing and at a lower price point, I'd be seriously tempted. The mom jeans actually look a lot better than I expected, too.

The idea of the PJ jeans has some appeal...but if it's actual denim, wouldn't they be too stiff to drape? In which case, it would sort of defeat the purpose of the whole thing, to my mind.

I like overalls on others but they're too casual for my style -- I've never worn them, though they've been in and out in cycles ever since I can recall.

Mom jeans -- maybe. I would need to know new ways of styling them that did not involve completely baring the midriff and made them an improvement on some other style.

The overalls look super fun to me!

ETA: Perhaps because I find them to be the most wearable for my build and lifestyle. I think you could do any of these cuts with panache.

Cocolion - gulity secret. I really like overalls. I really, really like the pair you have pictured. I keep trying to talk myself out of them, which has worked so far. But I am wondering if I would enjoy them in the summer for casual knocking around. They have to be like the ones you show, slightly oversized, light wash with a narrow leg opening and a full y back. Just love them. Guilty, hangs head in shame.. whimper...whimper...love...want....resisting.....maybe....

I like the first three styles - but will not be sporting any of them. I don't do holes in jeans, and the elastic on the cuffs in #2 will be uncomfy as I walk my fast work (I tried a style like that last year actually). But I love these styles for you, Denise - Queen Farm Fashionista. Especially the dungarees. #4 and #5 I like less than the others.

I have my eye on a polished denim jumpsuit. Mechanic Chic. (I'm not joking). xo

Here's my dirty little secret....
I had overalls in the late 90's... there was a bit of a joke that they were the uniform of my dinner club, as I think three of us tended to wear them when we got together - we ate so much! I thought they were long gone. Well, I found them a couple of weeks ago while doing some purging.

Tee Hee. I am NOT going to get rid of them :). In fact, I'm thinking of wearing to my next dinner club, as a joke. They still come up in conversation. (WOW, Dinner club is 20 years old this year!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Will have some styling fun with you ladies prior to that.

I have some jeans with a higher rise - not sure they are quite into "mom jean" territory, and I find them quite comfortable. But I'd only wear them with a sweater, I really don't find that much denim between the crotch and waistband look very attractive. But - one's eyes do adjust!

I would try them all except #2.

I used to live in overalls. I do think I'm past the age when I could wear them without looking a little dotty, but never say never...

Love the idea of the Mirimars! Too bad you have to sign up to be notified of their return; probably means they won't make it to sale. The first "wash"/print is really cool.

I still don't think mom jeans are flattering, although a skinny high rise wouldn't be out of the question these days with all the crop tops out there.

I don't cotton to the idea of wearing jeans to dress up but I do wear jeans occasionally and always wear the latter two styles. I like to show off the curve of my upper hip and I always think of them as a Marilyn or 50's starlet look.

OMG, those printed sweats are crazy! I love them, but would personally look and feel ridiculous in them. I do think you could rock them. Didn't you have a pair of overalls? I could completely see you in a pair with a fitted l/s tee and heeled booties. The mom jeans I'm kinda like, meh, on, because you'd probably have to wear them in a very specific way to make them look cool...which you could totally pull off, but I think the first two ideas are the more interesting ones.

I want to see Angie's polished denim jumpsuit sometime. I can picture it.

I loved overalls in high school and college -- but they were mainly gear for painting. Now I would wear them as gardening gear.

I'm around so many people who wear naturally distressed denim (from actually wearing the pants 24/7) usually covered with some paint splatters or plaster or clay dust too, and patched by hand, that any artificial versions of this just look so off to me.

There's an Old Navy commercial airing recently - the one with the airport security line - where the actress who's wearing the ON jeans is definitely wearing something higher waisted. I can't remember the cut in the legs but up top they definitely evoke a bit of the mom jean era. They look nice on her, but seem to require something tucked to show them off, which I don't see most people in real life doing.

Let us remember that old school mom jeans are not a good look. As with everything that comes back, the comeback version is updated. I saw some pictures of myself and my sister from 1999 recently -- we were both in mom jeans (so was her husband, actually) and believe me, there's no way that is ever going to look okay again.

Interesting to hear your opinions. Everything has a rather mixed reception. I've tried the overalls but just wasn't feeling them, I felt too old for them.

I have the Miramars on order!! Leopardluxe is right, they are sweatpants digitally printed to look like distressed jeans. I should be getting mine soon. Fingers crossed that they fit right. Someone is selling them on eBay for $499, $200 over their asking price.

I also got the Mom jeans from UO. My intention is to wear them with cropped tops, rolled with sandals or booties. I liked the way they show off the waist and hip curve but are roomy in the thigh, just right for my shape. I have spent so many years stuffing myself into skinny boy jeans, it feels like a relief to wear something that goes with my body.

Now why I felt too old for the overalls, but not these other two styles, I have no idea. There must be a cognitive glitch in here somewhere, proving that fashion is quite the emotional thing.

Angie -- can't wait to see you in your jumpsuit!

Rae -- the Miramars arrived today! I got the Small off Shopbop. They are sold out of Medium, I should have purchased each one duh. But the Smalls may be ok.

The Mom jeans, um, are not so hot looking on me. I think the dressing room mirror took off a good 10 lbs.

I will post some pictures of both of them for the forum to give it to me straight.
