New LC Boots - Need to be 10s!

My La Canadienne boots arrived from Zappos. They need to be 10s in order for me to keep them.

Just to show you the height of the boot - I think primarily I would wear these under jeans - but it is conceivable that in snowy wintertime I could pair them with a skirt or dress for church.

Please be honest - they represent a significant financial investment for me and I'd like to think that I've made the right choice! (Keeping in mind that people's tastes differ, of course.)

I will tell you the one thing that is keeping me from fully embracing them is that I am worried they will be difficult to drive in, given the snugness around the ankle.

If you do not care for them, or cannot rate them 10s - do you have other stylish winter boot suggestions for me? They do not have to be knee high, but I would prefer wedge-style heels or very low stacked for stability.

To be honest, I'm hesitant to give my opinions about things like this sometimes because we do all have different tastes.

That being said, I LOVE these! They are wicked cool. I love the shape of the toe and that they are shiny and delicious. To have a pair of boots that are practical, comfortable AND super-awesomely-gorgeous is a trifecta!

Awesome, awesome boots! They suit you, and you look fabulous in them! I also have a new pair of knee high boots that are snug around the ankle, which feels weird when I drive. I think over time, they will break in and that will resolve.

LOL - Okay, now tell me what you all REALLY think!

I love the "Emma Peel" vibe I get from them...I adore the red patent, and overall, I love the fit - they are sturdy winter boots but they don't add 2 sizes to my feet. The calf length is nice in that I can add a bit more warmth in the winter under my boot cut jeans. They feel almost too snug when I put them on but walking around inside quickly loosens them up, so I suspect the fit is fine.

My hesitations:
* If I commit to red boots (which would be an almost daily wear item for me in winter), then I feel I cannot go with a red handbag (my other search)...which is fine - 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other, and all that. But then - what color for handbag - red boots, black coat...a camel or saddle color?

* The stiffness in the ankles...I have only noticed it going up/down stairs but plan to carry them into the car tomorrow to see if it's going to be too irritating to work the pedals. I have big, clunky LL Bean winter boots now - ankle height - and the overall clod-hopperyness of the boots makes driving a chore.

Pros: same gorgeous color - one of my favorite heel shapes, nice toe shape, potentially more flexible as they are not as tall
Cons: not as unique a toe shape, stability with this type of heel in question, not as warm as mid-calf boots

Sorry if it seems I'm overthinking this...at the end of the day, it's only boots!

I'd stick with the taller boots for your cold winters. The ankle stiffness should work it's way out of real leather. Sounds like you love them and will feel fab in them!

Definitely a 10. I like your 2nd option too, but there's something really special and spunky about the red patent wedges. I also think the boots will soften around the ankles with time.

As far as a handbag -- I think black, gray, and saddle/camel/tan would all play nicely with red. Pewter and bronze might be options too (depending on the shade).

They are so different. The heel shape difference makes a huge statement to me so I cannot compare them as an either or trade off. I still like the first ones better. They look much more comfortable and much more fun to me.

The boots are a definite ten! I love them. In terms of a handbag I would try black with texture i.e.patent/mock croc, grey or cream.

They are a 10 for sure! You need to wear skirts and dresses to show them off, they are too adorable to hide under boots. I LOVE the color.

I didn't want to reply because it looks like I am an obvious loner on this one, but I really didn't really care for the tall ones. I found them a little clunky and boxy, and combined with the red color, they looked a little clownish to me. I mean, obviously I am the only one who feels this way, so my opinion can easily be discounted.

The second ones are similar to my ankle boots from LC in terms of heel height. I wear them all the time and they are very comfy. The leather around the ankle is quite soft and supple. I actually have SERIOUS boot lust now! The patent, the cherry color, the heel...oh my. I also just like the shape more...less square.

I guess it depends which ones will be more useful to you. Perhaps your climate is the deciding factor?
