So great! I actually already bookmarked those Diesels last week when I was looking for another pair I was stalking last year. I noticed the same thing when I was at my local Bay last week. The shoe department was SO great. I couldn't believe the increase in big name brands - especially the assortment of Frye boots (not that I need any). So great to see...but dangerous....

Oh yeah. I found this stuff not long ago...they have been selling it all at the Toronto store for a long time, but online is SO much better. I think they know they are going to need to compete with Nordstrom's very soon....

Uh oh.

Although some of this has been online for awhile, they are slowly bringing better and better brands into the stores. So I happened to be in the local Bay today and ran across the Diesel jeans - they haven't had those in our store ever. I'd been stalking these uber cool PJ looking ones all year last year but never pulled the online trigger. The PJ jeans intrigued me since I'm so in love with my Rag & Bone PJ jeans. Well wouldn't you know they had them in store today. If they weren't $300 I would snap them up in a hot second. But given I seem to have a bazillion jeans, and I don't like the price, I thought I'd try them on for research purposes, in case anyone else is interested. Personally, I LOVE them. I have a minor niggly concern about length. I'd prefer another inch but if they go on sale that might be negotiable for me. These jeans have a nice dropped crotch. I am almost 5'8" but have short legs. I think on a longer legged person these would definitely be too short. Sorry to hijack the thread....but in case you're interested....

I would be happy to see this stuff in the stores too! My Bay is a bit of a flagship store for the tri-city but other than a nice Ralph Lauren/DEnim and SUpply section and Lord and Taylor, they do not carry these brands. And the Bay online charges for shipping, doesn't it? Maybe what I would try to do is get the people in the shop to order it for me (I have done this with shoes a few times - shipped to my door for free and can return to store). Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Shannon.

No charge for shipping over a certain amount - I think $100 or maybe less - free shipping with your Bay card....

I see this isn't news for a few of you! I haven't seen any of these items actually in the store yet but maybe soon.

I do think they are trying to improve their inventory due to US competition, although winnipeg is not slated to get a nordstrom.

Jackie - wow, thank you for the review. I really like the look of those. And we know The Bay does decent mark downs and sales - something to think about.

Interesting..... Our local Bay carried some of these brands when they were spiffing up a few years ago and then went back to a much lower price point mix when they did not sell well (in the meantime I scooped some bargains). The downtown store was where I had to go for better brands and designer which luckily was too much effort!

I will be interested to see if it is just online stock or if they are anticipating the Nordstrom opening and tweaking their mix again.

Great news! My Bay is not the greatest but with free shipping over $100 and free returns to the store it can be done now (and a dangerous thing it is!)

Jackie, thank you for your research! I've been looking for a birthday present for myself, these would be perfect, and the short leg length would actually work well for me. Can I ask which store you were at? My store doesn't have them (Park Royal), although I have noticed the shoe department is getting really good. But service doesn't seem to be improving any, still the same old Bay there....
