new BR sale clothes...your thoughts?

My photographer is on strike for the evening, so you are stuck with me and my (newly cleaned!) mirror.

1. cowl neck top. will definitely need a cami...it's a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen!

2. here it is in crystal claret...i'm wondering if it works like this with my new cardi?

3. forest green v neck sweater....very soft!

4. v-neck flutter top with embroidered band

5. and in deep purple...I'm not really sure that I like the fit of these...they seem to pouch out a bit coming down from the band.

6. tie neck blouse...I fluctuate between liking and being ambivalent towards it. Not sure how to layer with it?

7. lantern sleeve thick sweater.... I can't decide on this one. My husband laughs at my Popeye arms though

8. here it is in brown all buttoned up. I'm not really sure how to wear it, honestly.

Thanks everyone! At this point I'm flipping between thinking I'm getting it and thinking I'll never get there, so I really appreciate all the positive feedback I always get here!

Hi Taffy...

I think the cowl neck tops and flutter sleeve tops are bit big on you. Do you feel like you are swimming in them? I don't care for the cardi over the cowl neck--it looks messy. I think you'll need a finer gauge knit to wear with it.

I really like the tie neck blouse. It would look great with a pair of black trousers or jeans. If it is scrunchable to skirt length, I'd love to see it with a red skirt!

I like the lantern sleeve sweaters on you though. I like it with a shell underneath, but again, I think the chunky knit is too heavy for the delicate fabric of the cowl neck, and all the gathers are very distracting.

sorry if some of the pictures are sideways! I've flipped them and they look fine on my album...but when I use the links they aren't. I don't get it.

Thanks Nicole...they do feel bigger. I thought that was necessary to make the cowl do all the sagging action, so I didn't really notice it on that one as much as the flutters. I hope that the lantern sweaters pass simply because I want a warm cozy sweater to wear often in the winter. I'm wondering if these will be tricky to pair with?

How about buttoned down shirts with the Lantern Cardis??

I know Angie is going to ban me for life for suggesting this--but this is where a pretty long sleeve TEESHIRT (yes I said TEESHIRT) comes in handy. The focus is on the sweater, not the under layer. Maybe something with some rouching or pretty print, with jeans and boots.

Hi Taffy, you have some great stuff there.

1. Cowlneck tops - could be a tiny bit big, but I love the colors on you! I'd try a size smaller just in case.

2. Flutter tops - those are definitely big, so smaller is needed for sure. Lovely colors again.

3. I like all the sweaters: teal cardi, forest green, lantern sleeve- interesting colors and shapes and they fit you well.

4. Ti-neck blouse: love it! I'd try it with jeans and V-neck cardigan in color like wine/teal/purple, or maybe with a vest like Angie blogged today.

Here’s my 2 cents:

1. I fear a smaller size in the cowls will cling. Did you try a smaller size, Taffy? The colours are gorgeous!

2. I do not prefer empire cut tops like that on pretty pears. I vote return.

3. Sweet necktie blouse!

4. Lantern sleeve cardi is stunning. KEEP!

I haven't tried a smaller size in the cowl necks...I don't love them, just the color. It seems a popular color for BR right now, so I'll return and look for different pieces in the same shade.
Should I keep both colors of lantern?

Also, what do you guys think of the lantern pairings in the last 4 pics?

Taffy - I'm way late in the game but I love the tie neck blouse and the lantern sleeve sweater looks really good - I think that is one of those items that looks so much better on a person than on the hangar. The colors you chose are great too!
