New BR cardigan and cowlneck top

I have just received these items and here are the photos since I know that quite a few people here were thinking about them as well.

Claret cardigan:

I absolutely adore it! It feels so nice. I am going to duplicate and maybe even triplicate it ( in different colors) later in the season when it hopefully goes on sale. I have a question: what color tops ( other than cream and black) would go well underneath it? The color on the photo is slightly wrong ( my camera adds a slighht yellow cast to everything), it is closer to the color on the BR site:

I like this one too, particularly the color. I think that the next color I 'll get the cardi in will be this shade of teal.

Tanya....It is on sale right now for $48.30. (or is that what you paid for it?)

I love the sweater....the model has the claret cardi on with some icy blue beads....so maybe you could find the right shade of blue to go with it? I like Sihays's idea of green and yellow too. And maybe a heatherd grey? Oooh how about chocolate brown??

Nicole, that's indeed what I paid for it, but it's just a temporary promotion and it goes back up to regular price on the Aug 1st. I can not get mote right now since I'm eying some other, more important stuff, but I figure that in about 6 weeks or so it would be permanently marked down. I am liking a lot of the other colors: dark teal, light purple and heather grey.

Those particular BR cardis are SO soft. I tested the turquoise one. It looks great, Tanya.

Nice cowl. Teal looks fab against your skin tone. You wear murky colours extremely well. Right on the opposite spectrum to what I can wear. There has to be something for everyone, right?

I agree with you on the softness Angie! That's what makes me want a few more.

Regarding the colors, you are right absolutely right. I can get away with some brights (e.g.red) and I am sure you could do burgundy or something similar , but in general it is as you describe. But we both wear cream well, don't we ?

That cardi is softer than my sweats. It’s amazing.

Quite right Tanya – cream, black, dark grey, black, chestnut, ink blue and fuchsia are colours we sport together. I’ll enjoy "my" jewel tones on lovely you.

I like the color on details on the top of that GAP shirt, but the elastic blousy bottom is not my cup of tea. But if the bottom was sleeker it would be perfect. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Glad to hear so many good things about that cardigan--I recently ordered it in white, and I'm looking forward to its arrival! I'm hoping that that cardi and in the V-neck will still be available in claret when they are marked down further, as that color is beautiful!

Tanya, I love the cardi and the teal top! I was at BR this morning, found the deep teal, tried it on, loved it (!), but it had a small snag in it. Of course it was the only XS left, and the 30% off deal ends Friday. I was quite annoyed. I suppose I could order it online, but that's a hassle. I just wanted it right then, you know?

Dani, that ice blue Gap top is adorable. I had been eyeing it earlier myself.
