Need your input for Friday's holiday party outfit

1) Squeee! Evan Picone Sheath
2) Angie had suggested a sequin jacket but I couldn't find any I liked in my price range. Target had this sequin scarf and I thought I'd "make it work." : ) I also wanted to see what y'all thought of the red belt.
3) Black belt
4) No belt
5) OK, now sleeves: red belt with sleeves rolled and scrunched.
6) Black belt with sleeves rolled and scrunched.
7) Shoe and hoisery details. What do you do about your toes poking through the holes?
8) What I wore to hubby's work party last year.

I want this beautiful sheath dress to make a fab debut, so any feedback or advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe a tuxedo jacket over it? I don't care for the red belt, I find it a little distracting with the print. But any of the black belt looks work. Great dress!!

AJ, do you have a boyfriend jacket? I like the proportions of a longer jacket with a sheath. BTW the dress is amazing!!!

The dress is really gorgeous! Perfect for a party, and versatile enough to get some wear out of it once party season is over. If you're going with this jacket, I prefer it sans belt (version 4). I agree re. the red belt seeming sort of off with the dress, and about trying a slightly longer jacket with it--might be cute.

Mo - this is a cropped tuxedo jacket that I'm wearing.

R&J - No, I've tried many boyfriend jackets, but I never liked the straight silhouette it gives me. I need to add curves, not take them away. : P Plus the one button on those type of jackets hit me way too low and looks ackward with my small bust.

So this jacket isn't working for y'all?

Well...I like the jacket with the dress without a belt. Something about the belt too, hitting right where the jacket ends, seems a little choppy, IMHO. I like the long line of the dress under the cropped jacket, if that makes sense.

I like the dress as is in the first picture! But is it too cold for sleeveless? What about a sparkly cropped cardi? Such a lovely dress and fits you perfectly!

Taking a second look I like photo 4 without the belt also, the belt looks great without the jacket, will you be wearing the jacket indoors?

I think Jonesy is on the right track: either black belt without a jacket or sans belt with the jacket.
I am not sure about the scarf though... I like the sequins against the jacket but do not care for the central loop on the dress...
It is for sure a stunning dress, AJ, and fits you perfectly!

This is such a fantastic dress! Looks so pretty on you, too. I really like it with just the black belt as in 1. Did you happen to try the dress without the jacket but with the scarf?

Oops, AJ, I should have said long tuxedo jacket! I think it would look better than a crop style. And I have to agree with those who said either a belt or the jacket, but not both together. I also like the dress with no belt or jacket - maybe just the scarf as a wrap?

The jacket without the belt is definitely doable. I noticed that the dress, even though it came with a belt, did not have the seam that goes all the way around the waist that most belted dresses have.

Yes, I did plan on wearing the jacket during the party at the hotel. I tend to get cold easily and I'm assuming the hotel will keep the temps cool knowing that most people will be in blazers and layers.

However, if the majority votes no jacket, then I'm willing to suffer for fashion. : P

Gorgeous dress, AJ! I like it best with the black belt and no jacket or scarf. And I can't tell from the photo, but it seems like it might need a slightly more dressy belt...skinnier, maybe, or with a more delicate buckle? This one seems a bit casual to me. Do you have a ruffly cardi you could wear for warmth? Or a wrap of some sort?

This is a gorgeous dress, but it doesn't need any competition. I'd leave off the belt and the scarf. Do you have a picture of the dress and jacket only?

The dress with the black belt only is my favorite but there is something so dressy and classy about the tuxedo jacket with that scarf! If you go with the jacket, my favorite is without the belt and the sleeves scrunched.

PS Great idea about adding the sequin scarf; I'm excited to try sequins this holiday season but it isn't good timing for me to buy a large piece right now so this will be a perfect compromise!

I should clarify.. the only thing I don't like about the scarf is seeing it drape down your chest. I like the sparkly though going down the side of the jacket. I like look #4 the best... just not the neckline part.

AJ, that is such a beautiful dress! Could you shorten the scarf, maybe by knotting it somehow in the back under the jacket? Then it could just hang down at the sides of the jacket. Black belt or no belt.

Angie, just to clarify...the "necklace" is the sequin scarf wrapped once around my neck to get the right length for the jacket. So you feel the jacket will be fine without the little sparkles from the scarf? Also, others have mentioned that the dress/jacket combo looks best without a belt. Should I leave it off?

The dress is beautiful on you, AJ! I prefer it without the jacket. I think the jacket hides the beautiful neck and shoulder lines of the dress. Your hair looks gorgeous in the first photo - perfect for a holiday party!

I'm with the "let the dress speak for itself" camp! It's so gorgeous--the fit and the print. The scarf and belt make the outfit too busy, although the black belt does work with it. I'd love to see it with a simple black jacket or cardi, no scrunched sleeves.
