Need ideas for this vest

Thrifted this vest over the weekend and so far, this is all I can come up with for it:

You look adorable! Fab outfit. How does the vest look with your tweed Coldwater Creek pants and maybe a cream or black turtle? That's probably too conservative, but maybe you can add jewelry or scarf to spice it up. Does it work at all over your batwing sweater?

Joy - The batwing sweater will not fit in the arm holes of the vest. I can see why you would suggest it with the tweed pants, but since the vest is boxy and the pants do not add any needed curves, I think I would look too boyish. I think I need to pair the vest with feminine items but I'm not sure what.

AJ, I’d like to see the gillet worn more *cleanly*. In a “less is more” kind of a way. For this outfit, may I suggest that you leave off the necklace and the white socks and add knee-high boots. I hope that makes sense :0)

I can't tell the color for sure (mustard, olive, brown?) - it's GORGEOUS though! My first thought would be to pair it with a cream turtleneck, jeans & some killer heels or boots. You could add a fun leopard scarf (find one with the right color combination - there are so many different one's to choose from) or a fun red tartain plaid one maybe. I LOVE it belted on you also! Even better that you thrifted it - major score!!

Angie - Thanks for the suggestion! I get trigger happy with the accessories! LOL! The reason I added the beige socks is I wanted to add some bulk to my skinny ankles but now I see that wearing the tall boots would take care of that. Should I reserve these ankle boots for pants only?

JewelryGirl - The vest is a bronze/brown color. I like your suggestions! Unfortunately I don't have a leopard or tartan plaid scarf, but I'll see what I can come up with!

If you're worried about skinny ankles with ankle boots add legwarmers. i do this in the same colour as the tights and boots it adds a bit of bulk to my skinny ankles but is not particularly noticeable here's a couple of pictures. If you can imagine the legwarmers and boots on the jeans photo with the black skirt from the first photo i often wear this combo x
