Need help! What to wear with this long graphic skirt?

I've had this skirt forever and I always wear it the exact same way - with a black top, usually a turtleneck, and black shoes. Does anyone have any other ideas of what to wear it with? I was thinking maybe a white button down with a wide black belt, but the skirt has no white in it and I didn't know if it would look funny.

How about you hem the skirt to a midi length?

I would wear any of the colors in the skirt - not just black. I have a somewhat similar knee length cotton skirt that I pair with many tops: Knit, woven, short sleeve, long sleeve, tank! And I've worn slingbacks, sandals, ballet flats - even tried out ankle boots but never got out of the house that way.

Cute skirt, and I like the way you've styled it. I could see it with a drape-front or high-low hem cardigan or vest, perhaps belted, over a scoop neck tee or tank. You could wear white and one of the dominant blues in the skirt, or black over black with a silvery belt, perhaps.
I have a similar maxi skirt in blues, though a batik rather than graphic print, and I like it with a white tank and button-down shirt combo by Splendid for summer. The tank is ribbed, and the back of the blouse is the same white ribbed fabric, with a silk-cotton voile front, so it's a close-fitting but still relaxed looking shirt.
Try ballet flats or flat boots with it, too, and see what you think.

If we're talking about only winter styling i've styled maxi skirts so far this year with: cropped or high-low hem sweaters, v neck sweaters with a belt around the waist, top tucked in with a jacket through over top. Good luck!

Angie - It never occurred to me to shorten the skirt, but I actually like the length. I feel like I'm 6 feet tall when I wear it. I have several midi length skirts and this is the only long one I own.

I have a blue striped shirt! I'll try it on and see what I think - pattern mixing is hard for me. My eye doesn't always see cohesion where others seem to.
