Need an advice!

I tried this Zara dress today!
The fit is perfect on me!
As I'm petite the length is perfect also.
My question is: Is it too much of a party dress or can I wear it to the office with a pink cardi and opaque black hose and flats?

Rute, is it beaded, embroidered or printed? If it's embroidered or printed then I think it can be easily dresses down. If it's beaded you could still do it maybe by adding a denim jacket?

I'm a conservative dresser, so this dress looks very "party" to me. But I'd say it depends on the type of office environment you work in. A pink cardi might dress it down enough to be appropriate.

Rute, is it a knit or lace?

Personally, I would wear this dress daily in a heartbeat and dress it down - but then, I LOVE to wear dressy things.

In the fashion industry this would not just be a party look. You could absolutely wear it to the office.

I vote for being able to dress it down with the right accessories. If you can wear dresses to the office, you can wear this one too.

You could wear it to my office, no problem. From what I've seen of your work outfits, it'd probably be fine there, too. A neutral cardi might help take away from the party vibe as well - maybe a heather gray boyfriend cardi?

How far above the knee does it come on you? From the pic, it's office doable except for how high the hemline is on the model.

Gorgeous dress. I agree with the others that depending on your office environment, you should be able to dress it down with a cardi, opaque tights, and casual/work-like bag. So, other than hemline (too short on you, or just above the knee?) I'd say do it!

Oh Rute, this dress is positively gorgeous! I say get it, girl and worry about dressing it down later, LOL! There's this article in Marie Claire that talks about layering your holiday pieces to dress it down for everyday wear. Here's the link: http://www.marieclaire.com/fas.....ay-fashion. If you happen across the December issue, there's pictures with the article as well. I'm suggesting tip#3: the contrasting tee. I think a black long-sleeve tee might make this dress more casual, while keeping it interesting.

Like others, I'm curious about what exactly the fabric is...But I can see this working for daytime really easily with a jacket or cardigan and some opaque tights. It's a gorgeous dress!

Sorry to be a spanner here.That is an absolutely gorgeous dress but unless you work in a very high profile office this is not a office dress for Portugal even if you dress it down.
And I feel your pain for that.
Maybe a romantic dinner....

Rute - I could see dressing it down for *certain* working environments, but not for a conservative workplace, and it would depend on where it's hitting you. Since you are petite, is it close to knee length?

The fabric it's difficult to explain.. it seems printed as it has no texture.. I must return there and take a photo so that you can see how it looks and the fabric!
My office is bussiness casual, but everyone dresses rather conservative.

Ah. I think I know the fabric exactly. It's a lace jacquard. Great for the office. Now go buy the killer dress!

I had to give it another look because the dress is so beautiful.
With the close up photo it does look a little bit less party.
Mainly I was thinking that you do challenge the dress code in your office so maybe you can get away with it.
