NAS: tops to wear with this jacket

Hello all,

I am very excited today because I received my last NAS item: the Hinge® Round Neck Plaid Biker Jacket. They found this item instore for me as it sold out very fast online.

I *love* the jacket, but am wondering what to wear underneath it. Other than a low cut top as pictured, are there any other necklines that would work? The button down I was wearing today to try it on with didn't look quite right to me, but I'm unsure if there are any other options I should try.

I love the jacket. I rarely wear plaid since I moved to Scotland, it feels a little like wearing a national costume here.

I think the jacket is perfect with the lowish cut top, but I would also wear it with a boat neck or a turtle neck for a more victoriana type feel.

I think a crew or round neck would look kind of strange with the jacket but I'm happy to be proved wrong.

However I'm new to the site so I'm looking forward to finding out what the experts think.

I would try a turtleneck or mock turtleneck. Try a crew neck or a scoop neck and see how those work, too. I think this is one of those things that you will have to experiment with.

Tam, I can see a lacy black turtleneck or mock turtleneck adding some a nice edge to this jacket. Now I am very sad I didn't order this jacket when I had the chance. Lots of unexpected events left me no time to research everything at the NAS But, I will enjoy this vicariously through you and Tanya !

It's such a fab jacket Tam! I'm glad they managed to find one for you. (I hope we get to see more pictures soon too;-)

I second the suggestions above. Not sure at all if this will work, but maybe you could try some sort of tie-neck blouse as well (and then add your Dr. Martens for some extra rock vibe or something;-)

Tam, I'm so glad you found the jacket! I remember when you posted about it earlier, and it seemed sad that it was sold out online because it's so you.

I also thought turtleneck, but I like Inge's idea as well.

Thanks Ladies!! I don't actually own a tutleneck or mock turtleneck top, but the dress I am wearing today is kinda mock turtleneck. It looked funny to me when I tried it on over the top, but I don't think the dress being blue helped either. I'll have to experiment with some more tops over the weekend I think - thanks!!!

Aww you ladies are so sweet. Medusa you are right I was sad when I thought I had missed out on this jacket jsut one day after NAS started! I was so happy to hear it was still in stores (still don't really understand how their stocking system works for that to happen).

Anyway I officially declare next week pictures week!!! I will wear the micros again Niva I promise!!! I like the idea of this jacket with skinnies and docs for weekend wear, but I really wouldnt wear that combo to work. I need some more non-work occasions to give this a shot before the weather gets too warm, don't I!!!!
