Going into NAS this year, Angie's advice to use it as an opportunity to buy a few special pieces was in my mind. I intended to buy one or two special pieces and then stock up on work wardrobe needs and staples. I ended up with three special pieces and I'm trying to figure out if they all get to stay! They are

Brahmin bag - I've been been shopping for a lady like black purse for a few years and I think this is it.
Halogen coat - this is in place of a suit - it looks fab with a blouse and black slacks or a black skirt or sheath. My one worry is that it might be too warm for my office. I really appreciated the comments on Una's thread about this to help me think about how I'd wear it.
Stuart Weitzman Oxfords - these just made my heart sing and I think they will be comfy enough for my widesh feet. My one concern is they're an inch shorter than the shoes I typically wear with winter slacks so it could involve a round of deciding which pants to hem for them.

More normal work clothes are blouses and this dress. The picture doesn't do it justice. It has a slight 70s vibe and is knee length on my 5'6" self. The pattern is distinct and vibrant

Wildcard #1 is this fun black vest. Really smashing on over a long sleeved blouse.
Wildcard #2 is this sweater. Again, I don't think the picture does it justice. The dolman sleeves and the way the back drapes remind me of a Poiret cocoon coat, which is a style I keep hoping will have a bigger comeback! Probably don't need this, but it's a lovely brown and fun and VERY soft.

Feedback and thoughts welcome! I always go through a simmer period as I think about how it all works and what to keep.
