NAS dressing room shots - what to buy

Hope you can handle another NAS question and answer session.

I've been away from the board from a while because I just moving to the opposite coast of the country. The advantage of my new location is that I now have easy access to a Nordstrom and could try on things before placing an order.

1) Basic cardigan that was on sale for $30 (not part of NAS). It comes in black, white and raspberry as well. I'm debating between the black and the green. Worth getting or should I get the Halogen v-neck instead?

2) Someone else on this forum rocked this purple feathery top a little while ago. Also considering the black/yellow/white version. Wish it was on sale.

3) I was a little dubious about the cowl neck but I should have trusted Angie's judgement. They didn't have the S in stock, so I tried on the XS. Should I size up when I order? The SA advised sticking with the XS. In the two left photos, I have it pulled all the way down, and in the rightmost photo, I've let it settled into folds. Feel free to suggest colors to me as well.

4) They didn't have the S so I tried on the XS. Should I size up? Or is it too long for my short waisted self? Again, I'm considering the other print as well.

5) Already decided against the blue boucle coat but thought you might like to see how it looks on a different body. It's very warm and I liked that it gives you arm coverage while still maintaining the 3/4 length sleeve silhouette.

6) I really fell in love with these two leather jackets (one on the left is suede). I'm in desperate need of a lightweight non-gear coat and I've been striking out with the trenches. Can you please give these a numerical rating? Wearing a leather coat brings up some ethical issues for me, even though I'm already hypocritical enough to wear leather shoes and silk tops, so one of them has to be 10+ in order to break my self imposed illogical rules.

Feel free to be blunt - no offense will be taken because I'm really trying to limit the spending.

I think you should
1. Pass on the cardi. I personally stick with the BP. cardigans. Cheap, so easily replaced, and a million colors!
2 LOVE this. Good buy.
3. I only like it pulled up. The color is drab. Can you find something in a jewel-tone?
4. This is lovely. I don't think you need to size up unless it uncomfortable for you
5. I LOVE this on you. Sad to hear it's a no?
6. I'm not quite sure either is a 10, sorry. I prefer the second, shorter one to the first one (due to the pockets at the hips on the first). If you are hesitant I'd wait. I think brown would be a better color for you...and, would you wear it zipped always? I think the type of jacket like the second one look better unzipped.

#3 will look great if you size up. It's definitely too small in this size.

Pass on #1 and #6. Neither of them are 10's and you deserve something that is

1) By BP cardigan, do you mean the boyfriend cardigans?
3) I was actually considering the bright green.
5) This coat was really warm! I have two winter coats already and I live in CA so it wasn't going to work for me unless it was an "autumn" coat.
6) I also prefer the shorter one. I would wear it unzipped most of the time but it needs to look good zipped as well, which is usually more challenging, so that's how I photographed it.

I really appreciate getting your definitive opinion, especially on #3. Cuts the order down.

Do I need to size up on #4? Or is the XS ok?

#5 was just too hot for me. I run really warm *all* the time.

I agree with Angie too... 2 is fab, 3 will be fab sized up and 4 is very very fab on you. The jacket is nice, but I"m not swooning. Wish we could see it unzipped with a fun scarf.

#4 is really pretty, I like it very much.

You must have 2! The boucle jacket is great too, but I get it if the weight is not right for your lifestyle. Both leather jackets fit nicely, especially the second, but I am not sure about the colors.

I've placed my order online for #2,#3 and #4 as well as a few other goodies that will be revealed when the packages arrive. I did order both sizes of #4 as I was a little uncomfortable in the XS.

I am a little sad about the shorter jacket in #6 as I really did love it in the store - it made me feel sassy and sophisticated and chic in an "I'm not trying to be any of those things but I just am" sort of way. However, I'll bow to the collective YLF wisdom on this since it looks like the budget is getting blown on tops.
