A couple of my NAS boxes arrived today, containing the halogen smocked jacket and the Tahari navy dress. I'm sending both back, unfortunately, but here's a quick review.
The halogen leather jacket is very nice, and feels more expensive than it is. The leather feels divine, very soft and supple. The stretch fabric panels in the arms are thick and sturdy and don't seem like they would stretch out. With that said, it's too long for me. You can see this especially from the back, where its bunching up both at the waist and at the armhole level. I can also feel in the sleeves that the armhole is too low. Sadly it does not come in petite. It is fine open but I specifically want a leather jacket that I can wear closed.
The Tahari dress also bunches at the waist although it might be hard to see in this photo. Just reinforces my assertion that dresses with waist seams are tricky for me. This is already a petite and to be honest I would prefer a non petite length on this skirt anyway. The fabric is a thick ponte, fully lined. I find it a bit clingy (in looks, although it feels fine). The little neckline detail and shape are really nice though.
Looks like NAS is a bust for me this year. I also tried and returned a couple of bras. So all I'm keeping are some smart wool socks and a lingerie wash bag.
